Last episode is tonight!!

Season has been good so far
Good season overall, not perfect

I think it's my favorite show after wandavision

8-9/10
Really good. Direction at the end was great.

Looking forward to season 2.

If this had been a comic, youd have had Luke, Jessica, Danny and Peter at Josies at the end but alas were stuck with generic cops because budgets and actors and whatnot.
"How can.. the Prime minister.. support a law.. that makes it illegal for people.. who....What I'm trying to say is.. Oasis rules!"
Holy shit at Galleos death scene. Definitely wasn't expecting them to show that lol.

Good season though, can't wait for season two. I thought maybe when they were showing a montage of people of New York during Matt's speech that we'd see another Defender.

Last 2 episodes were fantastic. Looking forward to next season which will be all post rework.

You missed the point. The battle against Fisk has to be fought by the common man, not just vigilantes

Also, holy cow i think that Fisk execution may have been the most violent scene in the mcu. Actually winced at that, none of the other violence in the show even got a reaction.

I assume we will see many of them and/or others next season.

Also, godamn that scene when Kingpin rips the chief's jaw off.

I dont think we need to see all of them. The shows called daredevil. And almost certainly we won't see Peter. But I can see getting one of the other defenders.

Also, godamn that scene when Kingpin rips the chief's jaw off.

Yeah that was insane. Really didn't think they'd go there. That was further than a lot of other shows would go lmao

Yeah I was definitely expecting a discretion shot for that kill, damn
I'm far from high end, I just know what suits me.
Holy shit! Kingpin opened that dudes head like a watermelon!
Let's get down to brass tacks. How much for the ape?

I thought he was going to crush it like the Mountain did.

The post-credit scene was cool.
If you need the threat of eternal damnation to be a good person, you're just a bad person on a leash.
I would have never in a million years thought that they would do a skull crush and actually show all of it. God damn I cant wait for season 2.

That would've been cartoony. This one was much more gruesome because it was realistic.

I honestly think they went a little far with it, but I see they wanted to show that kingpin was no longer trying to stay on the up and up and was fully embracing his deeper nature.

But Jesus that was brutal, even more than the punisher stuff this episode

It is funny to see all the "its Disney they'll only go so far" stuff. No one can ever say that again that's for sure.

Pretty sure Deadpool and Wolverine wiped out any notion of that.

It didn't. Ultimately much of the violence in dp and Wolverine is slapstick style, played for laughs and incredibly goofy. This wasn't that. If I posted the screenshot of this dudes head after Fisk was done with him id get modded.

More or less this. Like I'm still looking forward to season 2 because they won't have to deal with Frankenstein-ing the old footage and re-shoots together, but that doesn't fix this season's problems with inconsistent tone. Plus I feel like the original series had a better supporting cast - I don't think I've seen enough of any of the new supporting cast to have a more positive opinion on them. The only one I absolutely don't like is Matt's new love interest, but that's probably the point.
Looking forward to getting off work to watch this later!

Is it weird one of my favourite episodes was the bank one? Even if it didn't really have any impact on the overall story?
Stand out, fit in
Jesus, the police commissioner's death was fucking brutal

And I definitely wonder if this is leading to more Defenders shit. You gotta figure the few remaining vigilantes are gonna want to watch each other's backs.

Good thing I never said "It should have just been vigilantes there and not regular people teaming up with them". But do go on about how I "missed the point" and that it's actually intentional master storytelling to do it the way they did because this is really a story about the plight of the common man and not because it's not financially viable to pay Mike Colter for a two second scene when they can save money and just bring him in next season (or in Spider-Man's case not able to actually be used for television).
"How can.. the Prime minister.. support a law.. that makes it illegal for people.. who....What I'm trying to say is.. Oasis rules!"
I'm guessing the reports of other Defenders being in s2 is because they're joining Matt's little gang of allies. Makes sense. Whenever big things like this happen I naturally start to wonder where tf the other heroes are.

Like, I know Spider-Man isn't showing up, but the whole city just lost power. Like, get that suit on, buddy.

I wonder if this whole Mayor Fisk arc could've been handled in one season if the new production had the reigns from the jump, instead of trying to salvage things and tie stuff together with all the stuff that the original team had put together.

I think this is the best MCU project since guardians 3

The ending was good enough but it feels like house of the dragon 2, just ends in a tease but at least s2 is next year. Not like stranger things which ended in a cliffhanger and follow up like 3-4 years later

8/10. Had a blast. Falls short of original Daredevil but that's ok, most things do
Good finale, but I really wish they would have actually recreated Frank's line from the comics.

The story they set up really is a Defenders storyline
That was great. I knew there was a 99.9999999% chance it wouldnt happen but one of Mandalorians season finales had a huge guest and I wanted that Spiderman shot to blow our minds at the end. But what we got was great. Cant wait for next season cause this is my favourite series theyve done I think.

I dont know that some fans know what they want. We got a pretty great acted and written series that focused on characters and themes and put them at the forefront and youve still got people complaining that some episodes were filler or completely pointless because Matt didnt have on the suit

Rewatching the episode and wondering, does anyone think Cole North is alive? I mean they dont show a body, but that apartment sure blew up. He does say I stand with my own, I am fine with dying, but with his own tossing a grenade into a room he was in, wonder if that changes his mind for the Punisher special? Then again he was unconscious at the time.

Was really hoping for a reveal of Foggy still being alive and faking his death, like in that one comics storyline

Maybe it will still happen next season, but I really thought it would be the cliffhanger for this season finale.

Elden Henson is confirmed for the next season so, unless its flashbacks, its still possible.
Foggy being alive might work in the comic, but I feel it would ruin the show entirely. Was glad it didn't happen.

Im 100% with you. And I started the seasoning thinking if Foggy didnt return it wouldnt be great. Bringing him back where we are now would be a terrible decision IMO

Agreed. Hope he's flashbacks only. Revivals/fakeouts don't land the same with live action as they do with comics
Honestly some of the best marvel stuff around and better than many of their films, the good ones included.

Tonight was pure fantastic. Glad they kept Foggy dead rather than whatever apparently happened in the comics.

I wonder, at the end of the previous season when Kingpin smashed Bullseye in to the brick pillar, did it break his back? If so, does he have his adamantium spine now?

Yes and yes. Although MCU didn't have the rights to adamantium yet so they used a different metal

definitely was better than i expected. i thought it would be a pretty decent step down from the netflix version but even with it being fairly slow in parts it was still on par with it. and yea that kingpin scene has to be the most brutal scene in the MCU. also surprised at just how much swearing it had. i feel like this 1 season had more swearing than the first 3 combined lol.

i still do wish we got a true season 4 and got to see how the netflix version played out. instead they just did like a soft retcon of all that even though it does assume you at least watched like the first 2 seasons of the original.

i was hyped when Frank Castle showed up until he got overpowered by all those crooked cops who worship him for the wrong reasons

cant wait for the bloodshed that's gonna unfold next season after the post-credits scene... lots of swine blood will be flowing!
and yeah, Kingpin continuing to show that just cause he's in politics now doesnt mean he got soft. quite on the contrary really!

first we saw him pummel the shit out of the dude who cucked him and now this... holy hell! lol O_o

I know everyone wants a lot of fancy names but I think from a plot perspective, Echo should come back. She has history with both, she's street level. Could be like Hawkeye in avengers 1
Not a major role but a role
Echo would make sense since it's about Kingpin.

Prob won't want to do Kate since she was last seen being set up for a Cpt Marvel thing.

I really want Hawkeye, but idk how likely Renner is to return.
