The first one was a kid. Likely a fucked up kid who was going to carry out something awful no matter what and Trump just happened to come to town in that time frame and despite supporting Trump the kid took the opportunity to get fame.

The second guy was Trump voter in 16 and turned on him by 20... guessing by his very strong support of Ukraine I'm guessing he was really turned off by Trumps weakness on Russia and over all foreign policy failures.

"Save the white race" by first killing two members of it (His parents) and then by trying to do the same to Trump and Vance.

I don't know much drugs I need to take for that to make any logical sense, but what else can you expect from someone who choose to be a Nazi? A group of people who worship a man who shot himself in the head because he was too chickenshit to face the consequences of his actions.

I'd recommend locking him in a room with a pistol containing one bullet since he likes Hitler so much, but life in prison is an acceptable alternative.
