Seriously, they could've made the game so bad with dumb design choices. Like look at that awful Front Mission 3 remake or Warcraft 3 Reforged. I was shitting a brick waiting for this game and hoping they wouldn't fuck it up >_>

But outside nostalgia nitpicks, the Switch version is superior to the original in nearly every way! It manages to retain the charm with the dialogue, the speed of the original's battles (hell, it's even faster here), and adds most of the new content past the end, so you still get the perfect pacing of the original experience without new shit bogging it down like some remakes tend to do. Plus there's tons of quality of life features like a better inventory system, and button prompts for the yoshi race.

It's wild that Super Mario RPG, the best game ever made, was surpassed by its own remake as the best game ever made lol. It's like poetry: it rhymes >_> Glad everyone agrees with me on this

TTYD remaster just confirmed my suspicions that the game was never that good.

That's my only real complaint. Them not putting in a hard mode is the biggest missed opportunity in this remake.

This game is easy: so literally who the FUCK is Breezy Mode made for!? And don't say dumbass children. I was 6 when I beat Super Mario RPG, so if 6yos now can't beat it (especially since the game is easier with more options), then they're just weak bitch kids that won't amount to anything in life and thus don't deserve to play the greatness of Super Mario RPG.

I was pretty excited for it, but ended up losing interest after seeing that they made it easier for god knows what reason. I don't mind low stakes games, but they already had something perfectly functional with the original.

The remake made it all fresh again, plus added a few improvements that let me enjoy it one more time. I appreciated it a lot.

Super Mario RPG is one of my favorite games of all time, but I wouldn't call it the best game ever. It's very much a "Baby's First RPG" game.

Kinda the opposite for me. TTYD remaster reinforced my love for the game. SMRPG remake, while I still love it, made me a bit more aware of how short, easy, and shallow it is overall
