the only way to get democrats to actually take a stand against you is to be more leftwing than them. They will roll over and expose their underbelly to republicans completely unbidden whenever possible but if you're trying to push a district more left they will absolutely spend as much money as possible to consolidate useless centrists
Maybe leftists and progressives should just start running as republicans.
