Legit have little more to say beyond being a fucking amazing finale, they did Conquest justice, probably my favorite episode in the series so far. And with oh so many threads for the next season to pick up on! The Sequids are about ready to make their next move! Battle Beast recovered from deep space and is a player in the game once more! Plots in hell are abrewing! The Techno Cenobites have made their desires known to Angstrom Levy, but who is to say they are benevolent ones! And Mark has finally chosen a stance!
How well can Mark fight against the inevitable upcoming threats? How much more will the newly renamed Rex Robot do to evolve as a character? What will Cecil learn about the Viltrum Empire from his prisoner? And will the Coalition of Planets bring Nolan into the fold for their battle against the empire? We will just have to wait for the next season!

Oh, and guy from the last topic, you called it when you said that Cecil would gather the Invincible corpses and make them very valuable specimens as Reanimen. Just takes a bit to get them going is all, Rome wasn't built in a day.

over all not a bad season final

really wish mark at the start had asked to take the fight out of the city conquest (at that stage) likely would have shrugged and agreed (later obviously when his battle lust was going he would not care)

thoe the slaughtering of civilians is just getting boring

it has no weight to it anymore

hell mark getting his ass kicked has no weight anymore

also wish eve had kept the prostetic leg

but over all a satisfying fight

i LOVED the funeral scene very well done

kinda concerned with the amount of subplots that got set up in the post credit scenes thoe as the show already has alot of those

When you have no legs with which to kick, punch with your fists. When you have no fists with which to punch, use your head.

Interested to see who Darkblood was referring to, I wonder if it was Conquest?
If you need the threat of eternal damnation to be a good person, you're just a bad person on a leash.
Cant wait to get home and watch this
Never forget where you came from.
Haven't finished watching yet but holy shit they're actually going to make the Viltrumite Reanimen .

Hoo boy that was an excellent season finale. Such a great fight. Once again I felt like this was going to take more episodes than it did based on how much it was hyped, but nearly an entire episode of fighting, something we haven't had before, is adequate enough I suppose.

This was some DBZ stuff with Mark seeming to break his limits as the fight went on. Conquest's punches were sending him reeling, but as Conquest went for the fatality with the heart grab, he completely tanked it. As Mark's total bone count was increasing, he started hitting harder and harder. He went full "I thought you were stronger!" on Conquest at the end.

Was awesome to see Atom Eve use her Ultimate form. I had no idea how she was going to get out of her Nearly Bifurcated Eve situation. Her fight leading up to that point was her most creative use of her powers yet. Very impressive. Good showing of her being this universe's better Green Lantern.

I'm gonna enjoy watching the Viltrumite Reanimen vs. the inevitable full Viltrumite invasion.

Beautiful memorial service. Eve and Mark getting to the baby making so quickly afterwards is kinda awkward, especially when one of them is all bruised with 3/4 non functioning limbs. At least we know how future Robot became Rex.

Mark finally chooses a side. Human or alien? I don't think he'll discriminate anymore. Will this make him a bigger danger to Earth and it's inhabitants? Only time will tell.

Lot of things to come for next season. This universe's Earth can't catch a break. Those bastard sequids are coming back. Reanimen are going to be super useful here if they can't control dead bodies. Battle Beast floating around the shredded remains of his Viltrumite opponent with seemingly no worse for wear and then immediately reanimating upon entering a stable atmosphere lusting for more. Levy was pretty quick to payout on his deal. Maybe he understands how fucked he is.

A bit bummed to know how some things will turn out for the future. Not from deliberately looking for it, but just casually strolling through YouTube and seeing these things in the thumbnail.

Yeah I was commenting to myself he should have asked to take it somewhere else and explain he can't go all out like Conquest wants if he's putting civilians in danger.

As nice as the fight was and mirroring a savage and devasting moment from season 1 to emphasize the brutality of it all, you bring up a good point imo. I probably won't get tired of it but it kinda happens all the time.

Just finished it.

Pretty intense and violent episode, even by Invincible standards. Enjoyed it overall, one thing I didnt like was the Eve resurrection. Felt it was out of nowhere and the explanation she gave wasnt really enough for me (and yes Ive watched the Atom Eve special).

So if she has no mental blockers she can pretty much do anything? Dont know what happens in the comics but hope they explore that more.
That was one helluva great episode!
It's more than good, it's alive!

Production quality was way higher this episode. Animation was way better than any episode this season.

The blood heart Conquest made was fucking creepy and hilarious as hell.

Conquest has that One Punch Man syndrome. He's so lonely because he's too strong. As OPM said to another fighter, if you want to have fun fighting, don't get any stronger. Something like that. If the other Viltrumites are afraid of him as much as Conquest says they are, I want to see their reaction to the news of Mark beating him. I know he didn't do it alone, but still.

Mark was smart enough to ask to see Conquest's body to confirm he was dead, but not smart enough to watch the GDA burn him. That's gonna come back to bite him in the ass.

I wonder what they meant by Mark's clothes melting at the end there. Maybe Eve's powers are getting unstable.
NNID: GuerillaGorilla
That was badass, definitely lived up to expectations. Can't wait for the next season, shit really starts to pop off!

I wonder who voice Freddie Mercury. I'm hoping so bad that's the character Cranston finally gives into.

Really great episode. Conquest cheering mark on saying he can do this and fight better was great. He was in control until he pushed to hard and Eve surprised him. Really sadistic but didn't feel over the top. Can't wait until next season.

Yes, which is why Lance Reddick wanted her so bad in the special over the other experiments. If she doesn't have the blockers, she would more or less be on the same level as Doctor Manhattan with the exception of the omniscience.

Cecil is sure doing his best to make sure the rift between him and Mark remains. Even if Cecil is able to learn shit that not even the Coalition of Planets knows (which is unlikely, given how Conquest's job was in his name), that would be yet another time he's lied straight to Mark's face, only this is on a completely different level than "yeah we sent that villain and vigilante who killed people to prison."

I agree with Acemos regarding the slaughtering of citizens...it lost all of its shock value and seeing it happen was unnecessary with all the collateral damage.

With that said, this was a fantastic episode with a great finale landing. I'm guessing this is where all the budget went into, because the fight looked fantastic. Honestly, I didn't even notice the downgrade in animation, only because this season has been very engaging.

Anyways, looking forward to the next season.

What an absolutely amazing finale. Couldn't have asked for better. Conquest was fantastic.
Man, I'm sure Cecil beinging him back will end well for everyone involved...

Normally I'd agree, but Cecil is pretty smart. He wouldn't be relying on the block of Tungsten to keep him contained, he would have the sonic emitters all over the place, and a micro emitter implanted somewhere inside him too.

While Cecil did say that any twitch from Conquest would have the whole place blow up, I'd just like it to be known that Nolan tanked a direct blast from a Hammer of Dawn, a blast which imo would probably make any explosive contingencies set up for Conquest look like firecrackers.

See, the thing with Cecil is that he does a lot of questionable shit, but at no point has it seemed like he's doing it for personal gain. He really seems to have the bigger picture in mind.

I haven't read the comics, so I've no idea how off the mark I am with my assessment!

great ep, great season. I wanna see more of that metal armor guy that killed one of the invincibles in space. he seems cool.

Allmind exists for all mercenaries.
Finally caught up. Very good two episodes, especially back to back.

The civilian damage is perhaps oversaturated, but you kinda have to have it at this point. I will say that while the train scene was a gut punch, I was just kinda meh about the same thing this episode. Conquest's most sinister point in this entire episode is where he leans down to calmly and quietly confess his crippling loneliness to Mark. Something about that just freaked me the fuck out.

I think the idea that Mark could just ask Conquest to go somewhere deserted is nonsense. Viltrumites do not care about human lives. Asking him to do that to avoid civilian casualties would likely just have him punch Mark into space so he could have time to kill everyone in the city before he gets back.

I'm curious to see how old Oliver will be next season. Be funny if he gets a mustache before Mark.

I'm also looking forward to crazy Mark's return from the shadowverse cuz you know that shit's coming.

conquest does not care i agree

my point is he wanted to fight mark and if moving out of the city gets him that he would agree

it happened in the city just to have more gore

the series tries to have a message about the lives lost in these attacks

but using them so much has shown it for what it really is

shock value

and even if conquest would have ignored it the attempt would still go a long way

the series wants to deconstruct super hero tropes but most super heroes DO try to take big battles out of the populated areas

No, he wouldn't. Every Viltrumite we've seen, even other Marks from other universes, are fundamentally just assholes. Even the seemingly good guy one working for the Planetary Alliance or whatever took Alan off life support.

Mark calling attention to the civilians would do one thing and one thing alone: draw attention to them. Conquest knew he was getting the fight either way. He'd have absolutely chosen the asshole thing and started stomping on grannies to get a good one.

Like what was Mark's leverage here? "If you don't take it out of the city, I won't fight back and you'll beat me to death!"

I was also completely yawning at the mass civilian casualties and Cecil walking around stupefied, these are cliches that just need to stop lol. I'm not jumping in here to join the /way/ too long convo about these points, just agreeing. I had more emotional impact when Rae got eaten, Oliver almost got twist'd, etc. As the series progresses I'm caring way more about the characters and not the redshirts.

We got it back to back with Invincible War and Conquest. I get it, they level cities, hundreds of thousands of deaths. The series has no human-tier characters who are captivating normals to contrast it. Cecil shrugs his shoulders, continues to have a job, etc. The closest we got so far was Powerplex's backstory, and that was good, but you get my point.

Since only from below can one better see the heights.

Except Mark tried. And conquest just told him to stfu.

And before that, Mark took the fight to space.

And afterwards, Conquest decided to provoke Mark by killing as many innocents as possible. So not really seeing the issue, Mark did what he could, Conquest just wanted blood.

To have a modicum of credit to him, that was so Allen could get the zenkai boost and Thadeus even admitted it was a scummy move to do.

But other than that, the only other Viltrumite who has not followed this modus operandi immediately was Anissa, where "diplomacy" was still on the table from the perspective of Anissa (and Kregg). Conquest came in to live up to the name, and a "let's take the fight elsewhere" would have had him respond by demolishing what remained of the city by himself.

I don't see why. He certainly wouldn't care for Mark's reasons, and had no incentive to listen. What is Mark gonna do, not punch back? Maybe if he was a smarter negotiator, he would wage the fight as an incentive, but Mark's never been that clever. Hell, if anyone in this series was good at that, there'd be a lot less interpersonal drama.

On a related note, getting Cecil's background has me far less critical of his negotiating ability as well. He's only ever learned and managed to get things done the Roosevelt way. He doesn't really know how to dangle a carrot.
