oh yeah, Rebecca Ferguson was in that. she's supposed to be like really brutal or creepy or something in it i guess. i love her in Silo. i should watch this at some point.
it was talked about.
I liked it.
Its literally better than the first movie imo, such a fantastic sequelAgreed. Odd that the weakest part of the movie was the ending part. A connection to the original film was needed I guess.

I can really see why King didnt like it. Kubrick changed enough to really alter what is going on, makes it seem like it is more aboutKing didn't like it because it was about his own alcoholism, and Kubrick basically tossed that part of the story on the backburner. It was an extremely personal thing for him, and I'd be pretty annoyed myself if someone adapted it out so thoroughly.purely cabin feverthana possessionwith regards to Jack.
Are you talking Shining here or Dr. Sleep? On top of that, The Shining is about Jacks slow descent into madness, and in the movie, Jack Nicholsons performance makes it look like he was just crazy from the start.
Because I agree on The Shining. Kubrick didn't do a very good job of adapting the book's themes of alcoholism, generational abuse, and what is needed to grow through them.

Actually, thinking on it, how exactly does Tony work, with the added context of Dr Sleep added to the mythos?
Are you talking Shining here or Dr. Sleep?Dr. Sleep, although yes, it applies to the Shining as well. I thought the return to the Hotel from the first movie was a step down from the rest of the movie which was top tier. Something just felt off. Probably how the main villain was taken down is part of it.

Yeah...I think that was partly due to different perspectives of alcoholism from what I remember reading.
The book is the story of a guy who is normal slowly become crazy.
The movie is the story of an already crazy person go absolutely bonkers.
Was really not a fan, either of the book or the movie. The Shining is a flawed but interesting haunted house novel, Dr Sleep is basically a poster child of later-era King overindulgence and giant conceptual swings that rarely land and ends up unbearably hokey and weird-for-the-sake-of-it.
The movie isn't much better and I actively disliked its attempts to tie itself to the Kubrick movie, which is much better than any of the other aforementioned media.
Wow. So much wrong with your post.
