Looks like the previous topic got purged and I want to keep this alive! Anyone else playing?? How far are you?

Just saw the new update today:

  • Fixed perks installed on cameras being removed if the camera was attached to a room, and the room was moved
  • Fixed some typos in English
  • Improved messaging on a marketing Sandbox goal
  • Fixed soft lock in Desert Act 1 which was caused by unlocking the Spa Point but building and upgrading it in another Museum
  • Fixed other possible causes of soft locks in Desert level
  • Fixed counters in Ravenous Caverns and S.S.Silverbottom
  • Updated Greasy Fields and Cold Mines as some exhibits were taking a very long time to find
  • Fixed another case of school trips becoming stuck
  • Update Idol Grab and Sonic Grabber so that guests don't want to go on duplicate versions right away
  • Fixed issues where Mayoral visits were not triggering as complete even though they received an exceptional rating
  • Fixed instances of stars becoming out of sync
I didn't realize you could install perks on security cameras! But I also don't really use security cameras anyway so idk if that's gonna be too helpful

I'm really enjoying the Space Museum, seems much more straightforward than the others. The Science museum is kicking my ass.

This is now Overwhelmingly Positive on Steam. I thought I remembered the first two games being less well received but they're also sitting around the 80s-90s with Very Positive.

I think they may not have been heavy box office toppers but they've generally had good reviews.

Museum does a lot of things differently to keep it fun and fresh, but some of the new mechanics are kind of tedious. I hope they make improvements though, they've already put out three hot fixes in the last week so there's room for it...

Another update today:

  • Fix for level loading issue if there was certain exhibits on the inventory (fix for https://steamcommunity.com/app/2185060/discussions/1/603024176009218170/)
  • Messaging improvements with "Unachievable" gates UI
  • Fixed a rounding issue when calculating inspection rating for visitor rating
  • Fixed a case of stuck characters (this was due to adjacent doors causing chaos with some navigation)
  • Fixed some bugs around completing a building (where it wasn't possible to complete a building due to invalid items - in some cases it was actually litter!)
  • Fix for janitors not repairing some interactive displays when there was an active queue
  • Fixed a case on conflicting Ghost buzz bonuses
  • Fix security guards only escorting criminals out of their zone
  • Fixed case of characters getting occasionally stuck in a situation where the closest door to their ticket desk if behind a staff only door
  • Fixed a bug where entrances to the levels seemed too dark (in the level environments)
  • Balanced advisor messages to hopefully make them less frustrating/spammy
  • Fixed an instance where curator class can show negative star rating when autosave frequency is set to never
  • Stability improvements


Doesn't really address any of the problems I've encountered with the game though -_-

OH PS: If you're using Golden Toilets, don't. The health inspectors can't use them and then you fail the inspections and miss out on cash

I have asked on the official forums >_> I am also curious. But it does make some things easier, sometimes I throw all the assistants in Tails outfits and security guards in Shadow outfits so I can spot them quickly lol.

I am so confused about this. I have several fish that won't get a buzz bonus but they have the requirements in their tanks. Am I missing something?
Fish and Ghost buzz bonuses are the most annoying things to me lol. Just too easy to generate conflicting bonuses.

When it says "not near" it means they don't want that in their aquarium.

Apparently they are doing a "Museum Bounty" system where you can get money for submitting screenshots of your museums.

Fun! I haven't figured out my favorite design just yet.
It sure is difficult. In previous Two Point games I just went for maximizing efficiency of everything and cheesing through the levels, but in this game I am trying to be more thoughtful and deliberate with my presentation.

Though that has messed me up a little bit, for instance in the Wailon Lodge level I tried to make an entryway for the ticketing booths and some narrower hallways but it was causing guests to traffic jam and it messed up the flow of tours.

Played some more today, had to get two more stars to get Curator Class VI and decided to focus on the Marine Life museum. Think I'm up to 4 stars now there? Farming fish is fun, wish you could farm the blue lagoon monsters. Also holy cow every thirty seconds I'm getting a new "POI Unlocked!" pop-up and it's really overwhelming. I need an excel file to keep track of everything at this point.

I wish there was more information about certain things. Like I unlocked upgrades to the security camera desk but I don't know what upgrading that does...

I will say that in addition to needing a UI overhaul (keeping track of what I still need to analyze and where to find it is a nightmare), they really need an option enabled by default to confirm if you want to analyze Pristine exhibits... I had a Pristine and in my excitement somehow scrapped it through analysis -_-. I've done like a dozen expeditions to that POI again and have yet to recover it.

Oh and security mechanics leave a lot to be desired. I have the guard posts next to exits and guards will literally just let bandits run by because some guard on the far end of the hall is chasing them.

Got five stars on the Space Museum (Pebberly Heights), which was a pain in the ass because of all the darned Anomalies you have to chain together. I doubt my set-up was the most effective but it worked.

Another Hotfix today. I haven't really noticed most of these. The Building confirmation is a welcome one though there are times where I've accidentally selected the building somehow. And the Alien exhibit queues is another great one, one of my exhibits yesterday had 50 people in line lmao

  • Fixed for subgoal for unlocked POI's becoming out of sync with the number of POI's unlocked
  • Fixed a bug where judgement clouder wasn't always given as intended
  • Fixed some plot objectives in Desert level being impossible if you upgraded the workshop project before making one in Desert
  • Fixed Typo in "On Ice" dilemma
  • Fix for Act 1 Objective in Wailon Lodge not ticking to 85% in some cases
  • Fixed double spaces in Mudbury Festival sign sponsorship offer
  • Fix for non-room doors selecting the building. This should hopefully stop accidental selling of buildings
  • Fix a bug where sometime advisor messages were not disappearing
  • Add double confirmation step for selling buildings in all cases (Sorry we missed this!!)
  • Change the starting buzz bonuses for the first spirit spawned in Wailon Lodge to be a bed instead of a Gramophone
  • Updated Ambience Speaker and Scent Situator functional descriptions to be clearer (these items increase the amount of Buzz that guests receive from viewing the exhibits)
  • Improving text/messaging around Fish and Spirit Buzz Bonuses
  • Security: Increase how long it takes thieves to steal exhibits (this should help give security enough time to reach to camera's spotting thieves)
  • Security: Increase the cooldown of thief guild raids in lower crime levels
  • Update Panoptic Pillar final upgrade objective to be more clear, it how says to "Manually Expose X thieves"
  • Added support to allow characters to be dropped on jobs outside of their assigned staff zones. Once they have finished this job, they will revert back to their normal assigned staff zone
  • Remove queues from Alien Tech exhibit interactions

I dont think this is true, or at least not for all of them. I still have a 99 queue on the spider one.

well that sucks. 99 is absurd sounding how many guests do you have total?

I am in the process of totally rebuilding my science museum after getting absolutely fleeced in one crime wave. But I don't do this often, is there an easy way to rapidly sell everything? Just use the Building Edit -> Delete floor space and then rebuild floor space?

I don't know if it will make a difference but I'm building little buffers at the entrances with some amenities (bathrooms, vending machines) and those metal detector security checkpoints in the walls... gonna see how that plays out.

There's been an absurd wave of spam on the official forums which is disappointing to see.

My new security set-up seems to be working... My scanners at the entry are catching people and I put my new exhibits along walls with cameras checking everything.

Progress in the science museum is slow af though.

Got five stars on the Science Museum (Bungle Labs or w/e). For a while I was netting like $0 a month and then it just ramped up and I was pulling in $100k.

Noticed a lot of glitches though, I don't know if it's tied to performance but people were freezing up at the vending machines causing small queues to form, and my robot guards would just stand at donation boxes instead of collecting them, AND robots would have perks partially installed then just leave without getting it finished... what.

I saw the perk thing a lot in the Science Museum as well, saving and exiting to main menu fixed it, I assume saving and quick loading works too.

Sorry to hear that :( It didn't hit me too hard there but it was annoying in the Science Museum.

Having cameras, putting exhibits closer to the walls (under the cameras) and using those security checkpoints seemed to help with the science museum. Still had to pause for every "criminal spotted" alert just to make sure they were being detained though.

Whenever you need help just ask, but also please share some details -- what are the objectives, what is happening/not happening, etc. because there's way too much to unlock and try to keep track of imo

I figured that one out. Now I'm back to my first museum for the second time. Objective us to earn $1,000 from tours, but even though the tours goes I'm not earning anything. Gonna try and figure out what the issue is tonight.

For tours, it helps to have a dedicated guide or two, make sure they don't have the Dull trait (there's one that makes them better at tours though too). Orientation of the tour platform can make a difference, the route will glitch and it might send people all around the museum. You'll see in the preview of the route

I have a dedicated guard, and I have it start at the entrance and hit about 10 attractions before ending. I've seen 3 different ones start and make their way through, but the objective still says $0.

Yeah, might want to track your tour groups to see what's up with that, sounds like a glitch. Even with a basic exhibit with like 3-4 Great or higher exhibits from the same theme you should be getting at least 3.5-3.75 Star tours that give you at least 1k :/

When I opened the game the objective was gone. Just had to do another quick one to buy a new plot. So, yeah, I guess it was a glitch.

Progress today - 2 more stars in Memento Mile (up to 4 now, nervous about this Mayor visit mechanic for some reason), and 3 achievements (completed science museum, have 6 different themes in one museum, activated a prehistoric mystery ).

Got 5 stars on Memento Mile, actually getting to level 26 Prehistory was the most time consuming part. Hit Curator Class 8, and now... I only have 3 stars left between the haunted hotel and the aquarium museums to get 5 stars on each.

I'm curious what maxing the Curator Class does.

I get the feeling the Wailon Lodge was supposed to be the final map if they were trying to go for the old school two point level set up. Just so many random requirements for all the different expeditions, plus the chance of getting cursed. Don't even know how to get my levels up fast enough, even dropping 25k at a time is only like 25% of a level.

I want to keep the dream alive! There've been a couple of hotfixes since the last post.

Wednesday Hotfix:

  • Fixed family members pushing each other blocking the giftshop queue
  • Fixed another case of stuck visitors in the cafeteria
  • Fixed a case of a stuck celebrity visitor
  • Fixed issue with freezer placement near exhibits causing invalid interactions
  • Fix some bugs around staff being dropped on locked/unbuild plots
  • Fix for softlock that was possible in Wailon Lodge level when save/loading before the first ghost spawns
  • Security: Decrease the chance of the Panoptic Pillar being stolen
  • Security: Turning off advisor message when a thief escapes without stealing or damaging anything
  • Security: Increase thief captured tannoy cooldown so that it doesn't play so often
  • Mac: Fix for flickering and flashing
  • Update tour unreachable UI to use correct assetsNew error message pop up for when an error occurs with mods
  • Security: Fixed a bug where if a criminal is hidden (like mole people) and then reveal themselves, security guards were not able to see them if they are within the vision cone of a camera or security guard at the time of reveal. In order for security to see them and catch up, they needed to enter security free zone for 1 second or more.
  • Fix for some cases of strange tour paths around doors
  • Fixed bug in the sticker book where the objectives for the Showcase Exhibits weren't tracking correctly
  • Increase save buffer
  • Fix for issue where exhibits larger than the size of an analysis room were being prevented from being deconstructed because the exhibit overlapped plot areas outside of the room.
  • Stability improvements
Today's hotfix

  • Fix for thieves not leaving after security guards escort them out
  • Fixed bug where the message "Can't place outside of plot" appeared when trying to place a large exhibit in the Analysis Room that is next to the plot edge
  • Localisation updates


Haven't touched it since the last post, I'm dreading trying to complete the Wailon Lodge, it's just so time consuming when half the expeditions feel like they're permanently in "nightmare season" and have an instant MIA consequence. That, plus there are famous spirits to be collected from across all the regions. PLUS I'm realizing I haven't even discovered all the exhibits, might have to go for those in sandbox mode. Like the only time I've seen Ancient Inventions was in the Security pop-up museum...

My progress is going kinda slow. I don't play every day, but I'm still trying to get the second star in the first museum. Didn't a few hours in it today, built a new building to make a botany garden. Split it in half to make arctic and tropical zones. But my tropical plants keep dying. I have 6 humidifiers, 5 heaters, and 2 botany experts in there. But their health still stops really quickly. Had my whole exhibit due earlier and had to start replacing them.

Also, I don't know how to keep my employees happy. They have break rooms, bathrooms, food, and I keep giving them raises but they're still unhappy. lol

For the botany exhibits, you might want one more botany expert - sending one out on an expedition means they're out of pocket for the duration of the expedition. Also, you might consider changing job assignments and unchecking Tours. It's possible one is on an expedition and the second is giving a tour, then... you're SOL. Finally, make sure the climate control equipment is accessible to janitors. They need regular maintenance or else they start becoming less efficient as they wear out (and there's a spectrum, it's not like 100% or nothing).

You *might* also consider switching to the Science museum if it's available (Bungle Laboratories I think it's called). You unlock Workshop Projects for interactive exhibits. One of those is an automatic sprinkler, and the radius for the Level 3 one is pretty darned big.

For the employees, is it that they're just unhappy and threatening to quit or are you trying to get that stupid 75% happiness goal?

It does seem stupid hard in Museum to raise their happiness to higher levels -_-. In theory this should work: Make sure they have access to Level 5 rooms for the environment rating boost, maybe add more water fountains and vending machines for the Thirst and Hunger ratings, add plenty of benches for the Energy rating, make sure there are lots of trash bins since seeing trash apparently makes everyone hate everything. Having a few more employees than you think you need means more time for employees to take breaks and satisfy their needs, but it's kind of difficult to gauge in this game outside of Assistants imo.

In practice ... easiest solution was to just pause the game and then manually raise everyone's pay up until they all had a dark green smiley face... I did this and was scared af that it was going to crash my income but actually it didn't really mess things up. I think I added another tour and discovered sponsorships...

Final unsolicited tip - don't be afraid to have repeat interactive exhibits, just spread 'em out.

It's this one. I do occasionally have one threaten to quit, but it's not terribly often.

Also, I don't have the science stuff yet. Just prehistory, aquarium, and ghost. Can't do much with the other 2 until I get things going better in prehistory.

My finances also seem to be all over the place. It was fluctuating between 20,000 and negative 10,000 for like an hour. Then I reorganized the botany stuff and ended up with an extra 200,000 somehow. Didn't even sell anything, just moved it around. Oh well, solved one problem and I've been giving everyone about 1,500 raises.

I doubt there will be any hotfixes tonight.

Gonna try to finish Wailon Lodge. I like to 100% these games but I don't know what to do here - keep going for curator classes afterwards or start a sandbox and do everything fresh which sounds like a pain.

Finally, tried the Mars Attracts demo and it was a little way too on the casual side. I might still get the final game. It plays pretty much like a combination Zoo (where the "animals" are humans from different time periods) and Theme Park (where you just plop down rides) management game. Art style looked like late 2000s visuals, there didn't seem to be many customization options like in Planet Coaster or Parkitect, but there was some appearance of depth like needing to generate research points to unlock better attractions or having power and water plants to power and... water certain things, like toilets for your humans.

These post-5-star "get 6k buzz" objectives are torture lol. I have a level 51 museum with a ton of exhibits and it is still not even at 6k.

Only 4 achievements left though.

  1. Thaw & Order (have a de-frosted cave person vandalize a donation stand, should be really easy.
  2. Tour de Force (have a 5-star tour, should also be easy)
  3. Qualified Opinion (train a staff to max, this is taking FOREVER)
  4. Build on Sand(box), have a level 10 museum in sandbox mode

I finally got my first museum to 2 stars and got sent back to the aquatic one to boost that one. Got the second plot there unlocked and had to stop playing. Haven't had time to go back for a couple of days.

Planning on going back tonight. Hopefully things will progress smoothly for a while. All it took at my first museum was to give everyone max pay and hire a bunch of new janitors, even though I had a bunch already who were just slow.
