I remember when it was that Texas was getting more blue only a few years ago.
That's funny I searched for "Texas" and this didn't come up. Deleted the topic I made just now.

It's the 3800+ bill filed in the 2025 Texas Legislative Session. There should be limits on the number of bills that can be filed so that trash bills like this don't even show up. Often stupid bills like this get filed to make news and waste everyone's time.

It's truly amazing how much time the right thinks about trans people.

Like I actually know trans people on a personal level as I'm sure many of you do, and I don't think about trans people nearly as much as republicans do, having never actually met a single one of them.

So there hasn't been all that much discussion so:
  1. It's important to establish at the outset that this bill is likely to fail. Never say never, but this state rep has a history of issuing shit like this and not getting anywhere.
  2. It's still awful. It's still a horrible portent of things to come, and it demonstrates who is truly 100% bigoted against trans people if they're found supporting this bill.
  3. It stipulates "verbal and written", and it stipulates "documentation, government officials, and employers", so if this bill were to pass and I walked up to a Texas police officer and tell them I'm a woman, I would be liable for felony charges.

Same. My DM for D&D is trans, and the only thing I can think of is, "man, this week is going to be great."

That's it, that is literally all I think about when it comes to her.

Can we add Louisiana, Alabama, and of course, Florida to the southern side? Thanks.
Shut your BF28/9 sound hole and listen up.

Get all the bible belt down there.
It's a race to the bottom in Texas, I see. The recent furry bill is just moronic, but this bill is even worse.
Many Bothans died to bring you this post.

I work for a fucking LGBTQIA+ nonprofit.

I've conducted safe zone trainings to teach people how to make their school/workplace more affirming.

I adapted the curriculum myself, it's got entire sections dedicated to teaching the difference between gender identity and sexual orientation, the explanation of the underlying science, etc.

I have the education director of the Transgender Resource Center of my state on speed dial, we're on a first name basis.

And I spend less time thinking about trans people than the GOP.

They seem to want to be speedrunning dumb shit lately. They're targeting anime now too.
