Surely Panama and Greenland/Denmark is ruined as well already. We're pissing off China too with the tariffs.

That would be one good thing from this mess. I hope Canada can save themselves at least. We're so screwed in the US here.

I hope so. I hope the rest of the world sees what's going on in the U.S. as a warning and shift away from conservative/far-right politics.

Yep and even if dems completely take over the government no one will bother signing any deals with us since it's entirely possible 4 years later a new fascist will just ruin everything again.

People said that in his first term and then Biden won our credibility back. The US is just too strong economically to ignore in deals.

Never let it be said that the USA is not a leader on the world stage right?

Trump has done far more damage in three weeks than he did in the four years he had last time. We still have at least four years of this shit; who knows where things will stand by then.

They already are now. Despite the US efforts to happen and or diminish their growth and even if they arent now its just a matter of time.

I'm kinda surprised by Brazil's approval rating for Trump plummeting. It wasn't that long ago the Brazilian people elected a fascist as president, who was refered to as the "Brazilian Trump." I thought there would still be a chunk of people who still go for those wanna-be strongman, tyrant types.

Not when that strongman is directly attacking and blaming them.

If the Democrats want to take back power and regain the trust of the world leaders, they're going to have to resort to old school methods of dealing with Republicans. And I mean OLD school.

Time is a funny thing, you know? I guess in the big picture of my life, you were only a blip. But oftentimes, those "blips" make the biggest impacts.
I work at a grocery store (which is a Canadian company), and it was ridiculously busy at work today, while apparently the local Wal-Mart was almost empty. And I live in an extremely conservative city, so if even here people are changing their shopping habits in such large amounts, that is a very good sign.

He won that back because the world at the time believed the US had basically caught a strange flu for four years and had battled it off.

Now they've gotten a secondary reinfection of a flu that is set to keep reinfecting them like covid, degrading them more and more every time.

As an Australian (meaning my nation has relied on the US for protection far more than the nations currently turning on the US diplomatically) I can tell you that they're not coming back from this. Trust takes an eternity to recover once lost/broken. The incumbent Labor government (who are suffering a bad case of the "Democrats" and are about to lose to Temu Trump) are playing nice (aka cowardly) right now and not saying anything bad about him but I've zero doubt the bureaucrats of this nation are never going to trust the US ever again.

Or at least keep him to a minority. I'm glad the polls are shifting. Silver linings.

I also find it funny that by that chart, we weren't huge on the US even before all this. Our net favorables were way lower than the other countries. But then, we share so much media, we know you fairly well and have seen all the problems brewing. And you're generally more conservative than us.

Entirely possible, I'm certain it's why Poilievre wanted an election to take place before Trump's inauguration. He was claiming he wanted Canada to have a strong leader to deal with Trump but we all know it was because he knew Trump insanity would hurt his own poll numbers.
