Sounds like the consistent Grubhub issue for my area. We only have about 4 drivers here because everyone prioritizes DoorDash, so every order's ETA is off by at least half an hour. Usually two, then auto-canceled.Yeah its been pretty rough down my way for the past 6 months or so with grubhub.
the extra upcharge for these services is supposed to be the convenience dammit.Sure...that's what they say
There was an apartment complex I lived in where delivery drivers I guess would get confused by the numbering and would often set things in front of the wrong apartment door. So if my food showed as delivered and it wasn't at my door I'd have to walk around trying to find which apartment they delivered it to instead.Reminds me of the time when I was actually sitting at my front door watching this one grubhub breakfast order I made get delivered to the house across the street. I just quickly ran across the street, took it off their porch, and went back to my house.
Waffle>HuddleWafflehouse suck ass in my area, lol, and they will suck even more since they are apparently going to be upcharging for all orders that comes with eggs starting now.
Yeah that always sucks. I ordered lunch once from a chain restaurant and for whatever reason that location had an issue, so it redirected my order to another, much farther location. Turned a 30 minute delivery estimate into a 1 hour and 15 minute delivery estimate. Wish they gave me the option to cancel it before doing that lolYeah that happened once with a random mcdonalds breakfast order I had a year or two ago.
I dunno why anyone bothers with this tbh.Sometimes we humans are just lazy.
Prob paid way too much for that pile of slop.It was 10.47, with a driver tip of 1.57. Its a bit less than what I usually pay for being lazy.
I'll never understand why, unless you're physically (or emotionally) unable to go get food yourself, why anyone would grubhub/uber eats their meals.Depends on where you're ordering it from. Sometimes I'll order food on my lunch break because it would take my entire lunch break to go and get it myself. 30 minutes of driving for the Dasher vs 60 minutes round trip for me
I can order 95% of my meals on an app, or via phone call, and go pick it up 5 times by the time a grubhub meal shows up.
I'll never understand why, unless you're physically (or emotionally) unable to go get food yourself, why anyone would grubhub/uber eats their meals. There is many legitimate reasons why someone would want to have something delivered, but like I said before in this case I was just lazy and paying for the convenience. This is just one of those times where paying 16 dollars or so (or in this case like 12 something. I had one of those discount offers that was actually decent today) wasn't going to break me so why not? Its just at times grubhub blows it is all, lol.

Especially when it's something like fast food where I know it would take me all of 15 minutes to just go get it myself.
When food delivery goes well you get your food in like 30 minutes so you can continue cleaning the house, watching the kids, do yardwork, fixing up whatever is wrong on the car (another good reason....car failure. It happens) etc. etc.
For me, I just can't past the upcharge. Especially when it's something like fast food where I know it would take me all of 15 minutes to just go get it myself.Trust me food delivery isn't a common thing for me at all. like 95 percent of the time I am going to get food myself (there is this nice ramen place in my town where you get a pretty nice packed full of veggies and meat ramen for 12 dollars. This same place via food delivery not only is that same ramen like 19.95 on the online delivery menus but then you have to pay the service fee, pushing this kind of thing well around the 28 dollar range to get delivered. I def draw the line with the pricier delivery menus). I do agree the upcharge is pricey in general.
