A couple days of snow predicted for San Antonio and well be in the 20s. Cant remember exact temps for the 2021 freeze when the power grid shut down, but gas lines freezing over during snow/sleet/freezing rain had a lot to do with it.

Well see how it goes this time. Im about as prepared as I can be.

So far so good. Its just slightly below freezing in San Antonio, but expected to get down to the mid 20s tonight. They have definitely increased capacity since 2021, so well see how things hold up this week. San Antonio is supposed to get snow on Tuesday.

Power grid is gonna go zonk again isn't it?

No. I've commented this before but it takes extremely sustained conditions and a lack of weatherization for a 2021 or 2011 incident where infrastructure is on the verge of total collapse. 2021 was so bad because it was a sustained 10-14 day cold wave where over a week was spent in perpetual sub-freezing temperatures.

This isn't to say this is once in a lifetime (we're not through winter yet and I believe these types of events will become once a decade situations as the climate instability gets worse) but I've seen people say every new winter snap in TX equals a new 2021 candidate. Nothing has even been within orbit of this since 2021 and this snap is very normal for Texas in Dec-Feb.

From 38 to 74 in less than a week. We've had weeks like that here.
I only appear to be out of line because I am the only one who is in line.
Good luck over there. Here in CA...more wind, hotter than usual winter weather (mid 70's), and no humidity this coming week. Great...
