The OA is my favorite show of all time, but it's definitely the type of show I would only recommend to certain people
I enjoyed it.

PM me the series, i'm intrigued

It can't be that bad if there's 15 books.

Edit: Not the series I thought it was, that series has 47 books
I want to say Sword of Truth for some reason.

There's 15 books in it? Oh, Terry Goodkind wrote it. I was thinking of Sword of Shanara, but that was Terrry Brooks.

I'm interested as well, I won't be critical.

Actually, I have a theory now.

15-17 main books (depending on how you count), the Nikki spinoff had 4 before Terry's death, and people shit on Goodkind all the time.

It fits.

Yeah it is Sword of Truth series. Basically what I wrote in PM was this and I'll just copy/paste it out here.

"Its the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. I really enjoy it. Like a lot. Most of my criticisms I do have didnt come until much later after I had already read the series over and over and started nitpicking.

I started the series in 1996 on a deployment in the Navy. I am a voracious reader and was stuck in the middle of the ocean for like 8 months. I was willing to read anything. Friend recommended this. There was only 3 books out at the time. I was skeptical of his description but again, I needed material to read. So I started and ended up being hooked. The 4th book came out the next year and from then on I reread all the books that were out each time a new book was coming.

That turned out to be almost yearly. People can crap on the books all they want but you cant deny Terry had a consistent work ethic. He got started late in life with the first book coming in 1994 when he was in his late 40s. The main arc completed in 2015 at 15 books but there is also a prequel book and a prequel novella.

Then there is a separate but tied in 4 book arc that really fits in the series as well. Then there is also a 5 novella set of another separate arc as well though. He died in 2020 and in that time span from 1994 to 2020 he wrote like 27 releases in that 26 year span for the series with 21 of them being full books.

Ive come to appreciate his consistent releases even more later in life after the George Martin and Patrick Rothfuss situation. Also I hate to sound so macabre about death but Terry died at the perfect time after the completion of his final book in the series of his accompanying arc. The main series was done and his two other accompanying arcs were both done. No unfinished story.

Anyway I prattled on too long as I got carried away. But yeah I love the series and to this day reread the main arc yearly which is a decently lengthy series at 15 books with a couple of those early ones being pretty beefy.

I know it isn't popular on here and I'm not someone who is really into high fantasy but I love this series and the Drizzt Do'Urden Forgotten Realms books from R.A. Salvatore.

Terry's writing can be a little preachy and long winded at times. I understand the criticism. I just really love the world building and characters. I have some other criticisms too but overall I really enjoy the series but I know usually most people don't connect with it.

He literally vomited up black stuff and refused to go to the hospital (despite this board pleading with him to do so) or stop drinking afterwards. He's nursing a permanent hangover with more booze.
WTF? Thats definitely way past time to stop. It catches up to you and you dont always see it coming. One of my friends was like that and died right before his 37th birthday. When you drink every day, you have toxins that arent flushing out. If you drink, you should always take a day off here and there for 100% water.

My goal is 1 or 2 on the weekend or in a social setting. No more having any sitting at home on a Tuesday or whatever.

I can obviously control it because Dry January is really easy. I just have to do it. I simply enjoy trying different beers too much.

Vintage skin flicks, from the 1950s and 60s specifically. Completely softcore but I find them entertaining.
I only appear to be out of line because I am the only one who is in line.

I decided to cut back hard too; doing Dry January, and even after January's over I think I'm gonna reign it in permenantly. I'm in food service, and man, it's so easy to get into a habbit of drinking "just a little" every day. Realizing that I don't really WANT to drink every day, it just became routine. Probably won't go 100% sober, will probably drink wine occasionally with nice dinners and maybe drink some soju here and there, but daily shifties I think are in my past.

So called super foods like green powders. Even if they likely dont work if they taste good make you feel good on top of it then thats good enough for me.

Ghee butter. Some brands are pretty cheap but the more expansive ones I dont recommend beyond special occasions like holidays.

Butterfly knives. Feels like everyone is already into knives way more than I am, or they're all "oh you're one of those" and I'm like "you're talking a lot of shit for someone in stabbing range" and then they give me a look and i'm liked "oh god i'm kidding please don't report me"
Balis are cool. I'm also a knife collector, but not balisongs.
Nu Metal is another one for me. I don't hide the fact that I like it (anymore) >_> , but I almost never recommend them. My friends that don't like metal wont like it, and most of my friends who do like metal don't either lol.

But fuck man, I just enjoy it a lot as a genre. SOAD, Mudvayne, Mushroomhead, Flaw, Sevendust, Fear Factory, Coal Chamber, 3rd Strike, Linkin Park, I enjoy their shit. Hell, can't even lie, Limp Bizkit is dumb but they have some fun dumb songs.

Metal is metal, I will say nu metal probably receives the most hate by a sub-genre bar none, being a metalhead who frequents a very high amount of shows on average across all

I got to go see Nonpoint for free years and years ago and the did so good most people left before the headliner came in after (drowning pool)

Heh, funny enough, my girlfriend saw Danganronpa on my PS5 while I was at work, started playing it on a whim, and is really liking it so far.

Never mentioned it to her cause I didn't think it would be her thing, but apparently I was wrong lol.

I have a scar down the side of my nose from one of those.

There's a few books like All the King's Men and James Ellroy's novels which I love but don't recommend because the frequent use of racial slurs can be hard to take and upsetting.

(They are reproducing the speech of the era covered in the books).
'Vinyl is the poor man's art collection'.
Let in the refugees, deport the racists.
Probably Monster Girl media in general... One because not everyone is a perv for inhuman girls like I am and two because a lot of it is trash or smut...

I still enjoy the trash sometimes... Creature Girls: A Hands-On Field Journal to Another World is fucking garbage but I can't stop collecting and reading it because I need to see where it goes... It's like a train wreck I can't look away from..
