Five days prior go to low fiber.
One day prior have very light breakfast, clear liquids rest of the day, and then a Miralax/Gatorade mixture that evening.
The day of, have another Miralax/Gatorade mixture six hours prior to the appointment.

So the version that I preferred was the miralax/powerade mix night before then some awful tasting stuff that you drink straight from the bottle 6 hours before. That stuff from the 6 hours before, you may as well drink sitting on the toilet it hits that quickly.

Anyways, if you haven't ever done it before, enjoy the propofol nap. It's the best sleep you will ever have.

The best prep I know of is is Clenpiq, which replaced the previous best Prepopik.

The worst I tried was some, like, 3 ounce thing. Both the strongest and worst flavor I've ever tasted. Discontinued like twenty years ago because it caused kidney failure.

The most common one (GoLytely) is the worst. It's an entire fuckin' gallon of room-temperature mucous with an alleged fruit flavoring.

Supposed to suck down a tall glass every fifteen minutes.

Comparatively, Clenpiq is two separate 8 ounce glasses of water with the powder stirred in. Add powder, stir for like five minutes, slam it down. Honestly tastes alright, too.

The most disconcerting part is that the water gets a solid fifteen degrees warmer while you stir.

Colonoscopies are super important, I wish society wouldn't be so squeamish about them. It helped me find my cancer at stage one. A type of cancer that is almost never found at stage one.

Every other year. Not sure how to properly phrase that, English is a joke of a language.

Colitis.

It's well managed, mine has never crossed over into ulcerative.

When I'm symptomatic there might be redness in the lining but you basically need a biopsy to categorize the inflammation.

Even then, when I'm symptomatic I'll get twisting cramps in my gut that feels like I swallowed whole a glass of tiny porcupines and now someone is twisting my intestine like they're giving me an arm burn. Followed by the kind of gas that can visibly age an entire room's wallpaper.
