I've always felt so overwhelmed even thinking about starting this series because there are so many games.
Are they really worth playing? I have so much to play already.
After only beating the first 2: yes absolutely. I can't think of any other games that quite match the tone and energy of Yakuza and I think the stories are legit good. I also enjoy the gameplay and all the minigames.
Each game's story is fairly self contained. While there's references to the other games, it's not like you're locked out because you dared to play 1 before 3. If you're even remotely interested, I'd recommend trying 0. The story is self contained, you don't need to have played any other games, it's one of the better entries in the franchise and it's usually
really
cheap. I don't think I paid more than fiver for it and got 50 hours out of it without even no life-ing the side content.
