Anything that can do retriggers (Mime, Hanging Chad, Seltzer, that 2-3-4-5 one, etc) is really helpful when combined with joker or card effects that trigger on play or by staying in hand in Mimes case.

Also, dont neglect planets, leveling a hand increases chips/mult before any other effects happen, making things like glass cards more effective.

I thought that one had a lot of potential, but I forgot High Card is considered a hand, so I found it tough to actually level up any decent hands with it.

Though I guess if you level up high card at least once every single round, you could do work with that lol

Yeah, I think I vaguely remember seeing a comment that you have to unlearn poker because it can hurt you in this game and my distaste for the lower hands might be one reason why.

I had a fantastic one running where I had a DNA + Brainstorm + Glass Joker and was just cranking out red seal glass kings. Using DNA, I was making 2 glass cards everytime and if one broke during DNA, it was just powering up my glass joker. It was lovely.

Just tried (successfully) to unlock the joker for winning a run in 12 rounds or fewer.

Except, I misremembered the criteria, and thought it was 12 hands or fewer. I completed the run in 13 hands... and the joker unlocked.

I just discovered (99 hours in) that Blackboard checks your hand for its bonus AFTER you play the hand, so you can play a hand that leaves your hand with only spades/clubs and still get it. A true example of reading the card explaining the card, lmao.

That makes it so much more usable than I thought, it just hard carried my gold stake checkered deck run.
I discovered it pretty quickly by accident when I played all my red cards and saw that the hand got the bonus lol

Just cleared blue stake on black deck. Man, this deck is actually rough. Losing a hand is bad but it only gets harder when the discard is lost too.

I can win runs, but when I hit 500,000 blind I usually get owned. Even when I had a Joker that repeated the effect of the card to it's right, and that card was the bowl of noodles joker (x2.0 but minus .01 for every card discarded). And I even got lucky that the Repeat Joker got buffed by Wheel to have a x1.5 after effect.

Second run was a successful gold stake on blue deck, I did lucked into a flush house shoot the moon/face card deck with a ton of glass and just skipped to the end of ante 7 and 8 to keep my glass from breaking.

I'm working on unlocking the remaining jokers and vouchers now. Only got four more of each to go now. On the joker side I still need [30 diamonds in deck], [30 clubs in deck], [100m chips in one hand] and [have $400]. On the voucher side I still need [5+ jokers with foil / etc], [reroll shop 100 times], [buy 20 cards from the shop] and [get hand size down to 5 cards]. Was having the worst luck trying to get some of these but had a few nice runs just now.

There's also 2 Spectral cards I still haven't used yet, not sure what they are but I'm guessing I've probably seen them and chosen not to use them so far. Also some jokers and vouchers I haven't actually purchased yet, only unlocked.

I wish Challenge mode had a retry function...

Also, Challenge 1 is so cursed; you either have no money or infinite money (any Temperance card), but there's never a quality joker available

I got a decent run with the no face cards deck with getting lucky with Pants, Blueprints and Constellation Joker, The Bull, Space Joker and Dice. Two were Holographic and Two were Foil and one was Negative. I couldn't get past the 7,000,000 Blind even with Blue Print copying Constellation at 3.4x. I did have Square Joker at some point before I got Bull I think. I had to sell one of them for the 8/8 Boss blind (Space Joker T__T) but I still won because 2 Pair was like level 17.

Wish I could get a Sock and Buskin run going with Pareidolia and Scary Face, but I swear the game specifically doesn't want me to.

This topic motivated me to try and beat Gold Stakes with Black Deck, and Im currently up to Orange. It reminds me a lot of why Gold Stakes pre-update felt so unfair most of the time - 3 hands starting is just a really rough condition for many reasons and really pushes you to kill a lot of runs early before they can actually take off.

Its been fun because when you do pop off, having the bonus Joker slot can be REALLY fun. But its almost embarrassing how many runs come to a sudden and unceremonious end.

My black deck runs are cursed to continually give me no fucking flat mult early like 80% of the time. It's so annoying just dying in the first two antes because the game is mostly showing econ/stacking jokers I can't reliably take without just dying next round.

Black deck is for masochists I swear, by far the hardest to clear with of the decks I've done.

Always a little sad when a set wins, but can't overcome 700,000 blind. I did manage to get a card buff to make a King polychrome, and then use an arcana to create two copies. It helped me win but it didn't come up often enough to be broken. If only I got to make more copies.

I managed to do it once on checkered deck. Got Madness early and went for it, then got a few lucky infinite builders, Green joker and Hiker I think.

I've beaten gold stake on about half the decks. A lot of it is just me brute forcing through the RNG, but that might be me feeling that way because of the decks I started trying to do it with. The more recent ones have been smoother (except Black Deck).

Green Ante is rat bastard. There's just that one jump that seems over the top. Not to mention getting no money for Small Blind. Half the time I'll just take whatever Skip it's offering because sometimes the RNG is so bad I only get $1 for the 1 play I have left.
