Spurred on largely due to the threat of Trump tariffs. I wouldn't have bought this aggressively otherwise. I bought:

- A new OLED gaming monitor (MSI MAG 271QPX)
- 2 sets of GraniteStone cookware ($99 each; down from $250)
- 2 new sets of mechanical keyboard keycaps + a keyboard wristrest from AliExpress
- A bolt action pen + a new mouse mat from LTT Store
- A 9800X3D (Backordered for 3 weeks; they finally charged me for it)
- Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword + Fire Emblem Engage
- TeamGroup MP44L 2TB M.2 ( Sad that I bought a 2TB SN850X for $13 cheaper 2 years ago)
- The Last of Us Part 1 on PC

A lot more money than I'm used to spending, but this is the reason why I don't spend that much money throughout the year. Also, Trump tariffs.

yeah for the first time in my life im doing something ive always wanted to do: build a PC.

I have the parts being sent here in a week and i'm going to finally do it.

I got a new gaming laptop on clearance from Best Buy before Trump was even elected! It's a big screen too not one of those 15 inches they try to sell you in store. Too short!

On a sale, it's a very good processor. The 9950X doesn't do enough punching at its weight class to justify the cost over the 7950X. I don't know what its cost to performance is right now, but at launch, the 9950x was terrible value.

Good haul. I got new wireless headphones, some shoes and boots, got myself three games, and I might get a mini sound bar or something.

I got my parents set up with a mini pc connected to their TV and its got tons and tons of cool stuff on it that they really like. I would really like a top class monitor, but theyre a lot of money and I hear they sometimes have issues.

While it would be nice to buy certain things before the tarriffs, I would first need to be able to afford them now. I spent an extra $100+ on a new piano keyboard. Old hobby havent had a decent one in awhile.
Probably the only Mario Maker 2 level I'll ever create worth sharing.

I got all my computer stuff out of the way too. Built a new 9800X3D PC too along with a new MSI OLED monitor that's coming tomorrow. Picked up a cheap open box gaming laptop on Black Friday. I'm ready to game through the tariff era lol.

150$ in psn card spent on plenty of good games
1 picture frame (have some pictures coming next week, of my deceased dog and cat)
1 mini pc tower
1 keyboard and mouse
1 VGA to HDMI converter to use my outdated monitor.
ps4 version of sonic frontiers
6 new towels
1 set of bed sheets
1 thermal blanket (helps for the cold nights, room gets cold and i don't want to use the heater). 50$ additional electric cost :(.

2 wallet pictures of dog and cat will go where my ID is located. the frame will be put in the kitchen or living room (haven't decided) a memorial i dedicate since the postal service managed to lose the ashes of my pet.
currently playing: nickelodeon kart racers 3: slime speedway (daily until disc arrives)
RIP Sophie the dog: February 2011-april 2024. we'll miss you alot.

Upgrading now is a good idea. But if I only game at 1440p, is it even worth upgrading from my RTX 3070? I figured it would take me to the end of this console generation at least. The GTX 980 lasted me until 2021, so I'm not exactly too picky on needing the highest graphics settings

I went to a Kohl's on Black Friday and there was hardly anyone there. There were times you could see straight from the from to the back without seeing a soul.

And it's it like they were sold out of everything. Pretty much everything still had stock, even where it said BLACK FRIDAY.

So I dunno what happened there.

Yes. There's a growing number of games that require more than 8GB of VRAM to function properly, even at 1440p. It will only get worse from here. The Last of Us Part 1 uses 12GB comfortably at 1440p Ultra with no upscaling. If you can, I suggest trying to get a video card with 16GB. AMD and Nvidia's new offerings will be available Q1 2025. The 3070 is now effectively a 1440p med settings card, and will be a 1080p card by the time 2026 rolls around.
