Switch because BotW.
I mean despite being a console no one wanted its kind of hard not to say Wii-U. There are some really good games in there.

I have to say though I know Im impacted by nostalgia but I truly love a lot of those NES games. I know people arent into sports games but I really liked a lot of those.

The Wii had Wii Sports, a game that appealed so much to non-gamers that they went out and bought a console.

I don't know if you can argue against that.
For the US the vast majority of gamers were arcade regulars, Atari or the rare super-nerds that had stuff like the Apple II or C64

getting that line up for the NES was world changing

It's shocking that the NES version of Donkey Kong wasn't a launch title for the US, considering that it was already out in Japan by that point (in fact, it was a launch title for the Japanese release), and Donkey Kong was still an arcade hit at the time.

The key is that most of them are better played on competitor consoles or PC. I wouldnt count anything but exclusives, as theres not been a point to playing anything else on a Nintendo console since the GameCube.

Thats why its SNES for me. Super Mario World was probably hundreds of hours of my childhood. As was Gradius 3, but Im not counting it since I think its an arcade port.

gotta be Gamecube for having two classics as exclusives in Luigi's Mansion and Rogue Leader plus THPS3, Wave Race, and Super Monkey Ball (also exclusive iirc).

Wii U has a long list of good games but so many of them were inferior ports of old games

The Switch also quickly released Splatoon 3 and Mario Odyssey if I recall. But probably SNES or Switch

*Splatoon 2

ARMS as well, though I feel that ARMS really should had been a launch title, if it was possible (which it clearly wasn't in this timeline).

Xenoblade 2 was also a big release that year as well (so big that it was one of the first games shown for the console in the first showcase).

This. Followed by GameCube, imo.

Switch had a Zelda game, but otherwise that is a whole lot of meh.
thinking about it, I think it's...probably the Gamecube? it's an honest to goodness toss up between that, the Wii U (lacks a must-have, but there are lots of at worst okay ports of good games) and the Switch (BOTW and Shovel Knight alone put it in contention) in my opinion.

though I must mention, the SNES only has five games but all five of them range from "very good" to "fantastic"

The Switch I suppose
Bucks World Champions 2021
PS4 looks great
SNES had Mario World.

N64 had a weak launch, but it also was the first 3D Nintendo console, and if you were there when it happened, it was a huge deal. Plus, Sf64 came out around the launch window.

Gamecube had a lot of good stuff.

Wii had games but it was mostly gimmicky stuff for a long time.

WiiU actually had quite a few good games, but no huge ones at launch.

Switch had BotW which was a big enough game to convince people.

Switch. The only one that is a serious other option is the Wii U, but it's mostly remakes there rather than new stuffs.

My FC is in my profile.
Also Melee wasn't a launch title, but it came out super soon after launch. The GameCube was great.
