I love how Ninkoro gets famous voice actresses like Hina Youmiya (AKA Anna from Dangers In My Heart and Tomori from BanG Dream It's MyGO) to voice cute assassin girls that only get 2 minutes of screentime before they unceremoniously die.

Sub-only right now. All of the previous OVAs were dubbed eventually, so I'd expect these to be as well, but I have no idea when that would be.

If I had a nickel for everytime this show introduced a 10/10 design just to immediately kill them off unceremoniously right after... honestly I don't know how many nickels I would have. They just keep doing it and I am laughing and dying inside the whole time.

Food for Soul is the King (or Queen) of comfy, hilarious, and adorable this season. Just as I'd expect from the Non Non Biyori author. They have the genre down to an art.

Okay, someone tell me if I'm just imagining the whole thing, but what the hell has been with episode 3 and 4 of mono? Normally comedy/slice of life shows do that deformed silly art style for a couple seconds of a comedic scene but... the entirety of episode 3 and 4, I mean the entire thing, has looked like this

Yeah it's been a bit of a mess. I did like the gag that the mangaka lady was drawn worse and worse as she got more and more drunk, but that was the only time that it felt like it was done on purpose for comedy and not just a general drop in visual quality.

I'm watching it as it airs, and I think it's pretty interesting. I always feel like original anime are way more fun to watch weekly. For me, reading the weekly discussions and people's theories for the rest of the story can enhance the experience. With original anime, there aren't any manga/LN readers vaguely spoiling things for anime-onlies because there's no source material to begin with. Everyone's on the same page.

That's also why I'm pissed that Netflix batch-dropped Moonrise instead of airing it weekly. It's one of the most interesting original anime to come out in years, but batch drops kill most of the discussion potential because people end up watching the show at different speeds. Slower watchers avoid the discussions to avoid being spoiled, faster watchers have less people to discuss with and empty all their thoughts, then once the slower watchers finally finish, everything worth discussing has already been discussed. It sucks.

My jaw hurts from laughing so hard at today's Ninkoro episode. It was somehow peak comedy and peak toxic yuri at the same time, and I fucking loved it. 11/10 episode, elevated the show from "great' to "leader for anime of the season" in my book.

It's only episode 5 and the Princesses are already getting beat down this badly. For a Sunday morning magical girl anime, Princession Orchestra is not fucking around when it comes to violence and escalating stakes. It's really living up to its reputation as the love child of Precure and Symphogear.

Which only makes me even more sad that it didn't get licensed and we have to rely on delayed fansubs.
