I realized that as well considering my county voted overwhelmingly for Trump and for the vast majority of them, they truly thought they were voting for the lesser of two evils and were shocked when me and other disillusioned conservatives started pointing out the people he had made deals with in order to get back into power. As Donnie said, he loves the uneducated, as theyre the only ones who sadly fall for his lies hook, line, and sinker.

The thing I keep seeing is that they genuinely think the price of goods will go down under Trump. It's such a fundamental misunderstanding of what inflation even is.

Well what do you think we do? I've noticed in school, but now it's just slapping me in the face.

People just do not want to learn. People always blame the teachers, but do you see how the kids behave. It's like in people's DNA at this point.

I remember specifically one kid going through the effort of stealing the answer key, then memorizing the answer key. Like why don't you spend that time learning instead? You see so many adults that can't do basic math or understand basic things about the government.

More specifically with the election, look at all those people who didn't even know Biden got replaced. People just absolutely refuse to learn.
You can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.

Some people didn't even know that Joe Biden had dropped out of the race. I genuinely wonder how the average voter manages to tie their own shoes
Hey, everyone, what's going on in this topic? Oh.
It hurts their feelings when they are told that they are just uneducated pawns for Trump to keep power yet here we are.

Trump either doesn't know how the tariffs work or is lying about it. When he says China will pay because of tariffs, no, they won't, the US importer will and those costs will be passed on to us. But all they hear is CHINA. BAD. CHINA. PAY. and even though this isn't how tariffs work they just hear him go on about it "with authority" so they eat it up.
Man, just yesterday I overheard a family member talking about Ivermectin being some wonder drug and recommending it due to all the fuss/praise it gets...

We must create our own information pipeline. Legacy media is not cutting it, it's often not talking about these things, is actively spreading misinfo, or is not reaching the people who need to hear it in a way that they'll believe. This must be priority number one going forward or near to it. The right understood long ago how important this is when they created think tanks, commandeered radio, then print, then cable, then online news and culture. They know how to influence perception towards lies and fear.

We have to figure out how to do it towards the truth. Period. Not optional.

Part of the problem is that schools aren't teaching kids to think. They teach kids to read material from one source, assume that one source is correct, and are tested on the material from that one source. Tests are pure regurgitation of material in multiple choice form and of stuff that they're simply not interested in (for the most part).

Wow, those are some depressing statistics.
If the economy was doing fantastic and the border was secure then Democrats wouldn't have lost that badly. Nice try though
Seek freedom and become captive of your desires. Seek discipline and find your liberty.
I believe this is the problem we are facing, not who the Democratic candidate is or what the Democrat message is.

The GOP realized they could manipulate an uninformed electorate all the way back in the early 90s, and set up a world of alternative facts instead of having an actual policy platform. It has taken decades of propaganda, but MAGA dominance is the culmination of those efforts. What can a candidate for President say when most of the voters dont know what the facts are, and wont learn?

Democrats have been writing about this for a long time. Al Frankens book Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot is largely about things just like this (he has a whole chapter about how, because of propaganda like Fox and Rush, Republican Voters surveyed think they are the most informed, then when tested on current events are actually the least informed). The book is all about what Republicans were trying to do with all their lies on far reaching media platforms. He published it in early 1996.

The election forensics are going to happen just like always, that Harris and Biden and Hunter Bidens laptop should have done this or that. But I think the truth is more dire. The GOP has been purposefully working for much of my life to brainwash the electorate and break the government. They succeeded, and now it has become mainstream. The majority of voters now cant even tell they are being openly manipulated. This election is proof that the plan the GOP embarked on to break good faith government has been a complete win, and they now have a base of easily led voters to back them and whatever distorted reality they choose.

And we as a country are going to spend weeks talking about how Liz Cheneys endorsement should have been handled while the world burns. As if any message was going to get through to an electorate the Republicans have thoroughly broken.

Mostly correct, but the plan was first conceived in the aftermath of Watergate, not in the early '90s. The first shot fired here was when Reagan killed the Fairness Doctrine in the '80s, which led to the right-wing overwhelming the radio-waves (hence the rise of Limbaugh), while around the same time, Rupert Murdoch was leveraging his wealth in the world of print to start up a competing station to ABC, CBS, and NBC (which he achieved by buying 50% of 20th Century Fox's stock, and starting up the Fox Network). Fox News, which started in '96, was built after he got experience with Fox and the British BSkyB station (which was previously owned by 20th Century Fox), but it's clear now that the plan for it was being worked on for quite a while.

I agree with this, especially about the importance of Reagan killing the fairness doctrine. I just associate Newt/Fox/Rush republicans more directly with the MAGA brand of politics than I do those early foundations, so that is where I always start. But it is absolutely right that the GOP plans around this predate that. When Democrats were writing about this in the 90s, they would always start with Reagan.

This sums it up much better than my always rambling posts do. We have entered a stage where reality and facts dont matter to a majority of voters. I dont know how a good faith political party or a person with any brain cells operates in that system.

You don't. Good faith people have no place here anymore. Trying to convince someone will only result in you losing your own mind in the process. This shit is fucked.

It's like the R. Kelly trial episode of Boondocks or the Patrick wallet scene, but on a nationwide, systemic level.

I wish I could find an answer to this, but there really doesnt seem to be one. From this point on the only politicians wholl be elected are the ones with charisma and good media support, and those are only sometimes the best ones.

Writing was already on the wall in 2016. MSNBC interviewed a group of undecided voters they had watching the 3rd Trump/Hillary debate. Some of them finally decided to choose one side or the other, but do you know what their main criticisms were? No, nothing about their actual policies. It was:
Hillary doesn't seem genuine. Trump doesn't act presidential.

I believe that ignorant voters probably swayed the election but I dunno that this is necessarily evidence. It's entirely possible that I'm just particularly uninformed but I wouldn't have known the correct answer to any of those. I would guess most people answered along party lines (Ds would say that thing that looks good on Biden is true, Rs would say it's false). It feels like the questions were skewed in favor of Biden. And y'know facts are facts but I don't think most of the votes came from the person's knowledge on the subject.
