Been using the Helio line has been pretty good for me.
How many types do y'all put in your deck? Just started and my deck is just water types.
Dragonite requires electric and water energy. Is he even worth using?
Dragonite requires electric and water energy. Is he even worth using? It doesn't do great in tournaments, it's basically a stall and pray deck. But if you have the cards and no other decks atm, it's definitely viable to win with.
So Ive been building the Pikachu EX deck. I have one Zapdos Ex, one Pikachu Ex and one regular Zapdos. What do you all think would be the best way to finish the deck with these options I have?Electabuzz
Pinchurin x2
Helioptile x2
Heliolisk x2
Blitzle x2
Zebstrika x1
This Gyarados card looks cool as fuck. I should look into adding flare to some of my collection but I dont know if its worth wasting points.God dammit. I choose the Pikachu pack every time and I havent gotten this. Gyarados is my favorite. >:(

What a great day, finally a 2nd Pikachu ex!

I already have 2 Zaptos EX as well, so now the question is how to play it! Going to start with horses, then test Electrode. Maybe add urchins, we'll see.
Thats great!I'd run either Zebstrika or Electrode, not both together. Then maybe include urchins to either. So far my first 3 matches have been wins with Zebstrika, but I haven't faced anything difficult yet.
Ive been running Zebstrika and Pincurchin with good success. I think Electrodes probably slightly better than Pin because of zero retreat and reliable damage vs. hoping for parahax. That said, youd lose out on two trainers if you run both Zeb and Trode.
Ive been goofing around for funsies with an Exeggutor EX + Promo Butterfree grass deck. Not super consistent, but being able to completely heal off a Circle Circuit with Erika + two Butterfree Powder Heals on Exeggutors beefy 160 HP is pretty funny.
Also hit 25 wins in the event! Ive got a few weeks to get the remaining 20 for the last profile icon, so Ill probably slow down a bit.

Makes sense. I think a Pikachu EX deck wants urchins mainly to be benchwarmers for maxing Circle Circuits damage, but ymmvJust beat down a Mewtwo haha, I'm thinking right now I don't need urchins. 6 Basics seems to be enough, if anything I'd add maybe 1 and give up Red Card or Gio.

Hmm, maybe so. I havent had it happen yet, but does this game punish you for lowmanning Basics in your deck if you dont draw a basic in your initial hand? I think in the main TCG your opponent gets a free draw for each hand redraw you make during setup if you dont have a basic.
If it doesnt then its honestly probably better to drop urchin after all.

Sorry for the spam, but wondering if I should drop a Hitmonlee from this deck in favor of picking up a second Potion or Giovanni. Its been working well so far and Hitmonlees been helpful, but theres definitely been times when Ive drawn both Lees and had that mess with my gameplan.
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/d/daec5c29.jpgI'd drop Hitmonlee for another Gio and potion, I run the same deck sometimes. It's just too clunky and slightly too weak to get consistent wins in this meta, so don't use it nearly as much as my poison, water, and lightning decks. I have a pretty sweet Blaine deck too but it has the same problem as Primeape, just not enough HP.

Oh, wow, I just pulled a god pack:That's sick.

I never thought I'd be lucky enough to get one. From what I understand (by looking things up on reddit), a god pack won't show up as a Wonder Pick if there are any cards in it above two stars, so the Pikachu EX ruined that. Either way, this is my first copy of most of these Pokemon (the only EX I already had, even in standard form, was Wigglytuff), so this might open up some new deck ideas for me.
That's sick. Most are speculating cards will be introduced which allow for some better combos going first.
I've been thinking they need a way to balance out going first, maybe an extra card?
Game is coded to always include a basic in your opening hand

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/f/f5613308.jpgAwesome! I'm done with opening Pikachu packs, moving to Mewtwo since I already have an EX from a wonder pick and hoping to eventually make a Dragonite deck.
Oh, wow, I just pulled a god pack:Excellent, still waiting for a god pack. I can't complain though since I have 5 competitive decks including current best in format. I also have the crown Pikachu ex.

Less evos in the Pika deck the better.Right now I'm rolling 2 Pika ex, 2 Zaptos ex, 2 Zebstrika and 1 urchin. I run 1 Gio and ditched the Red Card, feels more consistent now.
I'd also try 2 Pika, 2 Zapdos, 1 Urchin, 2 Electabuzz, 1 red card, rest the staples
I like Giovanni cuz a lot of cards are designed to just barely survive 2 shots of a non ex attack.
Cleared my event stuff, but still doing matches on event just to make other people's lives a bit harder. After all, the less people who have the medal, the shinier it seems.

Best pika ex deck isI haven't tried Electrode yet, but going by tournament results and my own experience so far, I say Zebstrika is better. Being able to soften up benches is better than free retreat.
2x pikachu ex
2x zapdos ex
2x voltorb
2x electrode
2x potion
2x professor research
2x pokeball
2x Sabrina
2x Giovanni
2x x-speed
Electrode is amazing cause once you evolve it from voltorb, it doesn't need any energy to retreat.
I got the 45 wins for the promo quickly running that deck. People concede frequently once you're just set-up cause you can max out energies on 2 pikachu's really fast.
My basic electric set has gotten me a bunch of wins. No Pikachu for me cause the bastard never wants to drop
Finally
