Remember the 2018 campaign strategy for Republicans was to focus on the scary migrant caravans heading towards the border? I remember Fox News constantly covering it and a constant part of Trump's speeches campaigning for various Republicans. Yet Republicans had all three chambers, and Trump has the power of executive order.

But if Democrats gain control of a chamber or both of Congress, Republicans can't stop the caravans, which they already had the power at the moment to pass laws and even get rid of the filibuster?

I'm not sure what there is to be confused about. A popular Republican talking point is how Kamala Harris has been VP for 3.5 years and has achieved functionally nothing. We all know that vice presidents have functionally no power. Meanwhile, Trump had total executive control for two years and amounted to the same effect.

I remember thinking Biden would willingly step down after 1 term and Kamala would be the logical successor and she would have a very public role as VP as a means to soft start her campaign.

Cant tell if youre both serious but people on the right like to claim how Kamala hasnt accomplished anything while being VP for 3.5 years, and this points out that Trump was actually POTUS and had full GOP control and barely accomplished anything

A VP has very few duties as it is. And really she was the tiebreaking vote for like a record number of Senate votes. That's one of the VP's only real duties. That and being a back up for the president, wait she is doing that too.
