My mom was at the game last night because, to her, this will likely be a once-in-a-lifetime event for her. (I could have gone, but honestly, I just really couldn't afford it.)
Gerrit Cole was incredible and held the Dodgers off for as long as he could and Giancarlo's home run certainly made me feel that this game was a done deal. I'm so used to the guys blowing it in the final inning and then... it was like magic. Lux walked, Edman got on, and Sho struck out. When they walked Mookie, I sat there and thought ok Freddie, make them pay. As he walked up and looked back and forth, like he always does, all I could do was wonder what was going through his mind.
When Nestor threw that ball and the bat hit that ball... it was like
I went to another dimension.
