Have you ever completed the Pokedex in a mainline Pokemon game?

Completed gens 1-3 sans event distributions. The only legit events I ever got in those games were the Eon Ticket Latios and Colosseum Jirachi.

Platinum is the only one where I fully completed the national dex.

Never finished Gen 5 and didn't play any gens after that.

I did in yellow (yellow + crystal can get you the full kanto Pokedex as all the missing version exclusives are in crystal).

I almost finished it in Y but I got burned out because I was trying to do a living dex. And I was trying to breed perfect pokemon for the final stages with EV training. Was maybe 85% done.

You'd still be missing one of the Kanto Mt. Moon fossils. Unless you played through Yellow enough to revive one fossil, trade it to Crystal and then restarted Yellow to get the other one.

It was a long time ago but yeah I did that. I had both games and a trade cable. Think I was able to use my GBA and a GBC.

I completed the regional dex in Emerald specifically for the Johto Starter

I have a living national dex from Gen 6, completed using GTS, hosted on Omega Ruby before transferring to Bank.

A new living dex from Brilliant Diamond. Now hosted on Bank

A living dex in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Also on Bank

And a living dex in Pokemon Violet. Also on Bank

I'm currently working towards a shiny living dex in Violet. According to suppereffective.gg, I have 467 / 687 but that counts alternate forms like oinkologne, indeedee, and lycanroc. Also the cap pikachu for some reason is on that site and I don't even remember that being distributed in this game so I would say it's closer to like 680 even.

Also shiny-locked mons do not count on there and I'm only collecting pokemon that appear in the pokedex of SV, so like articuno or latios don't count despite their shinies being obtainable in other games.

My biggest achievement is shiny-hunting a full-odds Arceus in Brilliant Diamond. I named him Butter.
