Fox wants to do what every sensible republican does. Move on from Trump and push a more "respectable" fascist to take over the MAGA cult and likely win the next election (and they only really need to win one more time to take over).

But they'll do exactly what they did when they tried to move on in 2020. Push someone else (in 2020 it was Ron DeSantis) up until the next presidential primary, when Trump absolutely curb stomps the "chosen" replacement and every conservative falls back into line until it looks like Trump will start losing again.

Oh, I completely agree with this. But I do sense that the GOP is looking to have the proverbial bullshit torch passed to another figurehead in light of the fact that maybe, just maybe, they feel Trump may just not be quite the draw as he once was because of, well, old.

Nothing else, really. Just old. If they can package all the other heinous nastiness in another neater, younger package, well all systems go, for certain.
