They're not charging those prices for the same products though. They increased the price to $1.25 about two years ago and there was a remarkable improvement in terms of the stuff they carried.

They do still have some of the same stuff, but they also offer a lot of stuff they couldn't before.

I bought my dang grill tongs there for $1.25.

It's mainly freezer items where they have stuff more expensive than a 1.25. I think it's to justify having a large freezer section as there are not many frozen items they can sell for 1.25.

There is a time and place for Dollar Tree. It was great to find some material to make art pieces. Those colored glass rocks were good and nabbed me an Award of Excellence at an art show for a cool $500.

They can have a place. But the business model really is built to extract as much value out of the poorest in our communities as possible. So them existing is not something I presently approve of.

Last time I was there, I swear they sold shitty New Years or USA/4th of July shirts.

It's been several years, so I'm unsure if I'm remembering right or not.
