Best Pokemon Tournament: Round 19

Here we go! After four months of preliminaries, we've narrowed it down to our final 128 -- now to narrow it down to the single best Pokemon.

You all know how this works, I've run enough of these damn tournaments. Vote for your favorite of the two Pokemon presented; the winner will move on in the bracket, the loser gets to stay in a PC Box for all eternity.

Rounds last 24 hours, give or take; sometimes I'm not always at my computer right on time, or have to post the next one a little early so I can move on to other parts of my day. It might also happen that I'm not able to post the next round on time at all, but I'll at least end the poll if I'm able to in that case.

If there's a tie that refuses to break, it will be decided with a quick Lightning Round. I'll go over what that entails if and when it comes up.

Blaziken

Vikavolt deserves the win but probably won't

Surprised Im voting for the Gen 7 Pokemon. Blaziken has always seemed over-designed to me (its mega form even more so) to the point that, if I looked at the design knowing nothing about it, I 100% wouldnt be able to tell its supposed to be a chicken.

I know this is not a popular opinion, but Blaziken is the embodiment of terrible pokemon designs

Vikavolt looks like it would be fast, but its speed is horrible.

Guess I like Blaziken better.

I dislike both of them honestly.

I'm voting Vikavolt.

Blaziken is the first pokemon I saw and went "Wow I hate it." Immediately reset my ruby game and chose mudkip because at least swampert looks cool. It sucks too because Fighting and Fire are two of my favorite types.

Tough one, but I'm going with Blaziken.

I don't understand why they made Vikavolt so slow when its Pokedex says it flies at high speeds.

I picked Torchic on my recent Ruby playthrough. I'll probably dump it later in the game instead of evolving it. I just have 0 interest in having a Blaziken.

Back before Ruby/Sapphire came out in Japan and Blaziken was first revealed, some people even thought it was one of the game's Legendaries, because it looked nothing like Torchic.

Protect Speed Boost Blaziken is one of my favorites.

I gotta give it to Vikavolt! I carried Charjabug through the entire game on my first playthrough of Sun because I was determined to use Vikavolt, even after finding out it was an endgame 'Mon! A Vikavolt was also one of the stars of my Ultra Moon logfic some time back~

In Moon, I ended up just giving Charjabug an Eviolite and keeping it in that form all the way until the end. But I did use a Vikavolt in Ultra Moon and in Shield too. It's such a cool Pokemon, but the super late evolution in its debut game really got it off to a bad start in some people's eyes.

They're both pretty neat, but the chicken ekes out a win.

Was always strange since it looks like it would be fast even without the pokedex entry.

Vikavolt is extremely awesome. Blazekin is a pretty mid starter.

up until its debut. New Pokemon reveals were typically saved for the movies. Blaziken is the first one to not do that aside from Togepi where we knew immediately what it was, the name, etc. Still historic amongst Pokemon fans.
