Including being pro-consumer.absolute madmen
But will they try the craziest thing of all, making a game worth playing?
Lol I was planning on buy ac valhalla complete which is at a ridiculous price of $150, maybe they'll drop it $20 now, which I'm fine with paying.
The season pass model fucking sucks, and should not be in any single player game. Why? They're discounted bundles for DLC that's going to be made anyway. Getting rid of it gets rid of the discount.
What exactly did the season pass model mean. Also getting to play it three days early. Just dumb stuff
Just All the DLC or is it like the Fortnite shit where you just get a skin.
What exactly did the season pass model mean.IIRC, Season Passes in single player games were just buying DLC in bulk without knowing exactly what you're getting into. I dunno if Ubisoft was doing something different with them, I haven't played their games since Rayman Legends and AC Unity.

Why? They're discounted bundles for DLC that's going to be made anyway. Getting rid of it gets rid of the discount. Its normally not a discount though. Heres what they do. They sell the expansion for $30. Then sell the season pass for $30. Then, add a bunch of completely useless bloat that basically nobody cares for or that becomes obsolete after five minutes, like adding preorder bonuses or an extra weapon skin, then go, see, thats a $50 dollar value for the cost of the expansion! SuPeR goOd DisCoUnt foR reAlz gUyz!

First thought: How bad is this game that they're willing to be consumer friendly?I think its less that and more "How bad have they fucked up over the last few years that they need to go Consumer friendly to regain a bit of trust"

Probably wouldn't hurt if they put their games back on steam day 1.They actually are doing that for this release
They actually are doing that for this releaseYea just did a search and seeing a few news site reporting that now. That should help them somewhat.
I haven't liked Assassin's Creed since Syndicate, so I won't hold my breath. I hate what they did to the combat system.Syndicate was awesome. Loved the Gangs of New York feel to it.

Is that worth preordering?imo no, but I also think preordering in general is just a bit of a dumb idea? I don't see why preordering of DLC is any worse than preordering of game
You're giving developers money for the vague promise of content. Are you even going to be playing a single player game a year from the date you purchase it? Are the developers even going to be supporting the game? Will they even still be around? That's what most season pass content looks like. I'm not against discounted DLC bundles, but after you know what they are and whether they are worth it. Skins and other cosmetics, with 1 story based content? Is that worth preordering? This. It's such a scam. Being able to basically pre-order the dlc before the developer even announces what's in it, isn't a bargain lol
I wonder how off track it is that they needed to delay it by 3 months. And yeah considering that almost every major game that's had early access has been a shit show, it's probably for the best that they didn't do that.
That being said, if I ever do play this game, it's gonna be after it goes on sale a few months down the line
Getting rid of the "Pay to play a few days early" nonsense is definitely the sensible thing to do after the debacle of the people who paid to play Outlaws early having to restart their game from scratch when the Day One patch hit.
Wouldn't that have just happened regardless? That wasn't a Day One patch by the way.
I got it for $20 a few months back on a PS store sale, couldn't pass it up at that price.
Why would it happen regardless? Everyone who has paid to start early lost all that early progress and had to restart their games from the beginning.
Part of me thinks they don't actually need that long and it's just releasing it in February is better from a sales perspective than December or January are.Very possible. I don't know if AssCreed games still have sales pulls like they used to. I imagine that they don't so that would make sense
If you look at the upcoming PS5 releases in North America there's really no major major releases from mid-November until the beginning of February.

I'm not against discounted DLC bundles, but after you know what they are and whether they are worth it. Skins and other cosmetics, with 1 story based content? Is that worth preordering?Fair, but that's a problem of the DLC itself being ass. If the DLC was better and somebody was going to buy it all day one anyway it wouldn't be an issue. And if you think the DLC won't be worth it then don't preorder, it's not that good a deal that it's an impulse buy.
Valhalla was the best selling game in the franchise.
I kinda hated it, but it is what it is. Theyre not fixing critical bugs and lack of polish during the week of early access, that stuff needs weeks if not months.
I think they chose the date they had before deliberately to contend for GOTY before the cutoff.
