Why though? It is just the type of people that a site like this attracts, I guess. More nerds, more extreme gamers, more introverts, more awkward people. I am not saying any of those things are bad, but it does lead to a higher incidence of what some of y'all call "forever alone".

CE polls have consistently shown about a third of CE to be virgins, and with most of this site over the age of 25, that does not match reality with the wider world.

I was pretty close with someone who felt like she was dream girl back in the day but severe anxiety, depression, and being on the spectrum ruined my chances

Tried for about 8 girls with a few more passing flirt but I have no game and nothing ever stuck

it's because of my medical handicap which doesn't help me socially plus i prefer to live by myself (since my uncle died)

Yeah, but not for long. Sad to say that my longest relationship at 38 was 2 months. I've gone out with women throughout the years but nothing has clicked. I'm at the point where I'm just focusing on me for the time being. Getting myself back into shape and financially in a better place.

Never have, likely never will. The fictional version of me from the series I write has had two though (although one was in an alternate timeline) and will likely have another if I ever actually progress in writing said series. But the fictional version of me is much better at time management than the real me.

yeah and i lost my virginity younger than most people probably and that's all i wanted to do as a teenager. i feel like i suffered socially because of it. it was just me and my then gf hanging out nearly everyday till halfway to junior year when she moved. had to find new friends afterwards which sucked.

haven't really had a strong close connection w/ another person since then. few failed relationships longest one being about a year w/ a guy though so not a gf.

No but I had several chances and didn't take them.

A girl asked me to go to the school dance (grade school) and I didn't give her an answer and didn't go.

Another girl (in jr high) put a love letter (or in this case a like letter) in my locker saying that she liked me and told me not to tell anyone and I told someone and she found out and put another letter in my locker saying "I don't like you anymore." It was an anonymous letter so I didn't know who it was at the time but hindsight it's obvious who it was now. I realized it after I got the rejection letter.

Then after I graduated high school, I met another girl. I asked her out to lunch and she said yes. It was an amazing experience for me that I still remember to this day. She was super shy, super timid, probably had anxiety. I had to order her meal for her because she was too scared to do it herself. We talked about a bunch of personal stuff. She gave me a hug after we finished our lunch date. I really liked her. But since she was shy and probably not very confident in herself, she probably wanted me to ask her out on another date or even ask her to be my gf. But dealing with anxiety myself, I got cold feet and never asked her out again. I think I bumped into her once two weeks later and we just said hi to each other and went about our ways. I barely knew her but from that brief moment we hung out together, I felt a real solid connection with her. It's too bad I'm a coward. c'est la vie.

Theres nothing wrong with choosing not to have sex (though some people say theyre choosing it when theyre not really). Theres also nothing wrong with being a late bloomer.

However, if youre a virgin in your thirties then theres a good chance that its a symptom of bigger problems that you have.

I really think I just lucked into it. I wasn't even intending to date since I was living with my parents at the time.

I didn't start dating until I was 27, and think I picked up on the cues pretty quickly. I also read a ton of dating threads on what to do and not what to do. I've sort of thought back on some of the shit I've read when starting this one and think "Well, it's nothing like how that sounds, so it's probably going well". I wasn't even looking to date
