I finished the RE4 remake and...

It's ok, but unlike RE2 where I greatly respect both the OG and the remake, the RE4 remake is just ok and it even is lacking in many places
RE4 has tons of great moments in it, and like 75% of them were removed. Steamlining the quicktime events is perfectly fine of course, but there's no truck trying to ram you and you don't throw a knife at Ramon and there's not a cultist killmachine about to squish Ashley and there's no spike ceilings and no crushing pillars and you don't have to defend a giant truck from cultists and TWO flaming trucks...
...and one of the bosses is outright gone (the creepy cave monster).
However, what they did keep in is very good . While you don't defend a giant truck or get to use a wrecking ball - both scenes were combined into one defense section where you defend Ash in a wrecker which KINDA streamlines it but just isn't as fun/memorable
I get why they had to do it, though, since the level design philosophy is about being able to always go anywhere in your given section of the chapter and there'd be no way to revisit the truck segment on foot... but doing so sacrificed a fair bit of charm.

The Krauser fight is vastly improved though
