I have been having a lot of fun recently with Battlezone: Gold Edition. Feels like a roguelike version of the old arcade game where you play as a tank. You start with the option of choosing a light, medium, or heavy tank with different weapons for each tank. You start on one side of a map on a map grid with each hex on the grid is a Battlezone with a mission objective and enemies to fight. The goal is to make your way to the final hex zone where the AI is located and defeat it. You select which hex you go to next and you earn money and blueprints for weapon upgrades by completing various objectives on those battle zones. There are some hexes that are supply points that let you spend your money on the weapon upgrades you unlock. You can also spend money any time to buy upgrades to your tank such as shields or health regeneration. You have 3 lives to get to the end, and the more zones you complete, the enemy starts getting stronger and stronger so you have to balance moving forward toward the end, and what you spend your money on before you become overwhelmed by the enemy strength.
