But if I put that same SIM card into another phone I can use data.

It's an S23 Ultra. Upgraded from the S21ultra.

I have gone into general management and reset the network settings, but still no bueno.

there's a setting on my phone to disable mobile data. maybe you hit that?

edit: on the pull-down settings menu thing, it's the icon with a down arrow on the left and an up arrow on the right.

try force restarting the phn

hold the proper button for your power and volume minus for ten + seconds or until the samsung logo appears

It's important because it might shed some light on if there's a mechanical problem or a carrier problem. If you can use VoLTE but not Data it means your carrier is blocking your data.

Edit: as for why carriers block data depending on the device the SIM is inserted into, IDK why they do it but I know that they do because I ran into that issue myself when I asked about putting a SIM into a Microsoft surface.

^^Hmm interesting. I have "Use LTEE data networks for calls whenever possible" ticked, but that wording suggests it will fall back to non data if it needs to.

I had a S21 ultra and I can put the sim in that phone and it works ok. I did get this new one refurbed so maybe I got a random dud that is locked or something? I dunno, its had a couple weird things about it so far.

Just because you've got the option checked doesn't mean you're using it though.

I had the same problem on Samsung Galaxy 20e. Not even factory resets would fix it.

If you're disconnected from wifi can you still call and text? You may want to look into the hidden menus via the phone dialer to find out exactly what your phone supports.

Other way around possibly. I'm in the UK but there are a bunch of settings that seem US based (for example, eSim is showing american network providers as options), so maybe thats the issue.

yea man this tech crap is confusing as heck

i I think I feel what youre going through with a high end phn and all (used to have a s21 ultra) and distinctively remember this problem but cant remember what the solution is

only thing I can think of now is switching your data from 5g to 4 or lower but shrugging it now

settings > connections > mobile networks > enable mobile data/disable international roaming
