Shes right, though. What exactly is the Green Party doing to make any strides in America, other than pop up once every 4 years? According to Wikipedia, there has never even been a Green Party elected to a federal position. And this century. the only time that they ever garnered more than 0.4% of the presidential election was 2016 (1.1%).

It really does come across as an ego stroke than a legitimate attempt at building a party.

seriously the big crime AOC has committed that really pissed them off was

she was polite to establishment dems

not even agreeing with them just acting civil

because she is smart enough to know if she does so she can get them to fallin line on things

as neoliberalism while very dangerous can be a good weapon if you point it at the dragon

you just then need to carefully dismantle it

In fairness, most of the people who genuinely (not this fucking clown) believe in revolution who refuse to vote do so out of the idea that the entire system is illegitimate. So by voting they would be participating and thus granting the system legitimacy. I think they are wrong, but I can understand how you could come to that conclusion.

I personally believe that America as it currently exists is unsalvageable. The people with wealth and power aren't going to allow you to vote away their wealth and power. The only way to fix it is to destroy it and rebuild it from the ground up. That being said, I still vote, if only as a form of harm reduction.

I don't believe for a second that the dems are going to fix any of the real structural issues in the American system. You can see that with the Biden admin has handled Israel's genocide and the way the Obama admin broke the Occupy movement and allowed the people who caused the crash of 08 to walk away with no consequences.

I still vote for them because they aren't going to destroy women's reproductive rights, force women to stay in abusive relationships via destroying no fault divorces, get rid of marriage equality for LGBTQ people, kill trans people via refusal to give them gender-affirming care, destroy the NLRB, OSHA, the EPA, etc etc. I could go on and on, but we all know by now all the horrific things the GOP wants to do.
Furthermore, The GOP is a Fascist Organization and must be destroyed
That guy made his entire brand about calling the left traitors over 5 years ago. It is not a now thing and is not a serious person. Its just bait.

I feel like people pretty quickly forgot that when she was first elected she was just as much of a troublemaker. She and pelosi were regularly having it out and the squad were the ones out there voting against the whip in the house or threatening to disrupt things unless their agenda was put in place. She was exactly the kind of disruptive, uncompromising force that these Twitter folks wanted her to be.

So essentially a bunch of virtual signal types who value appearing virtuous, protesting and finger wagging more than taking realistic actions to usher in change... like voting and educating oneself how laws actually pass and the actual why laws aren't passing. (It's never the reason they claim.)

You know like, actually voting, and educating others to vote in more candidates to get the things you want,

Twitter and polls don't make laws. Voting in a plurality, does.

AOC when she got elected ago was interjecting herself in every primary, assisting protesters with sit-ins, constantly picking fights and as a result almost got frozen out.

Along the way she decided to work with the party way more, stopped grabbing headlines and focused on doing the work all without actually compromising her values. As a result, she has much more a say in policy and what gets done. Should be a lesson for the left.

Not to defend the particular people being criticized but it is worth mentioning that any specific plan for revolution will likely result in someone being harassed, imprisoned, or murdered. I'm not sure how fair or pertinent that point is against their inaction, incompetence, and general silliness.

I keep on saying that the online left is more obsessed with attacking Democrats than Republicans because they perceive themselves to be the true base that the Democratic establishment should pander to. Many of them don't think electoralism is the way to fix things and have mostly given up on America as a whole.
There's also a "if a solution doesn't fix everything, it's insufficient."

Should be a lesson for the left.

The issue ends up being that you cannot make meaningful changes to a system that is working as intended by participating in it.

Sure, work to get poor people treated slightly less shit, that's absolutely beneficial, but it doesn't address the problem long term - as long as there is a yoke around our necks we're still just plowing the fields for the rich.

I'll take the "lesser evil" but I'd rather not have to take an evil either way. But capital speaks loud and clear

This logic is not even remotely logical if your response is to sit on your ass and not vote OR promote not to vote .

Sitting on your hands, pouting and doing nothing is not going to change the system is the system. Don't complain about the system isn't budging at all if you aren't doing anything at all to try to change it.

Same to promoting a demonstrable lack in education on how to change it. Change is not immediate, and essentially people like Briahna Joy demand an unrealistic change without putting in effort to make that change. Just virtual signalling is all they care about.

Laws are not passed with a simple majority, and yet the Rose Twitter types keep ignorantly acting like it is with them acting confused why things they want never passes, or why Dems work with Republicans on watered down bills. My way or the high way is not realistic if you want anything.

Change that ends the stranglehold capital has on the working poor can't be done through policy changes and voting. Not saying a violent revolution is the cure, it's likely to be technological advances that simply end up making the current economic system simply untenable.

But yeah, vote especially locally since those are far more likely to impact the average citizen. Vote to protect the most vulnerable populations.

You won't ever hear me say not to vote, but I'm not going to act like it is going to uproot the exploitative economic systems and institutions we have.
