Both ended pretty definitively, but with room for more. They told their stories just fine.

But he's super protective of NBC, yet has no issue with Beetlejuice 2?!

He didn't even do the first Nightmare Before Christmas. Burton contributed about as much creatively to it as GRRM did to Elden Ring.

I don't know why Disney hasn't made this happen yet with a RDJ sized paycheck.

They will make it back on the merch alone.

But it's Burton's choice in the end. He has final say iirc. Selick seems like he wants to do it though.

Even if the movie was terrible, they'd have it done in literally pre-release merch alone.

Pretty sure after dumbo he said he would never work with disney again. Its been a long time though so maybe I am remembering wrong.
