speak of the devil, they launched an AI firm under fake names. Go fucking figure.
https://twitter.com/crewcrew/status/1831097274258301363?s=46It has on occasion. The most impact that I've seen from amici briefs has been in the LGBT civil rights cases. I remember several gay marriage cases where briefs submitted by the APA and similar organizations were referenced in court orders and appellate opinions.
For anyone who knows: Does an amicus brief have any chance of impacting the courts decision?

Again, no surprise
I've never understood Tucker's motivation. He was well paid by Fox News to spew white grievance propaganda, so him selling out to Russia for money is illogical (though not impossible). Does he just hate America that much? It's not about money. He comes from a wealthy family. He never had to work a day in his life. It's about how terrible of a person he and the right are. I'm not joking or exaggerating in the slightest. The stuff that they have wanted to do that we've been warning people about for years? People like him and his family and friends have been the ones championing these things for decades. They want a white ethnostate run by "conservatives" only. Every move is to further that agenda. Destabilizing the US is a means to an end for them.

He was fired by Fox by that point.
Nah, he was pushing Russian propaganda the moment Russian tanks crossed the Ukrainian border, going so far as to say on air that he was rooting for Russia.Yes but his trip to the Russian grocery store, that was after he was fired.
Wait, is the implication here that RFK is working with the feds to spy on Russian shills? Cause thatd be a good twist.
That or RFK is bugged, which is also neat.

https://twitter.com/rparloff/status/1831749067698745493I don't really understand why it should be delayed until after the election. Unless the sentence includes jail time (which seems pretty unlikely), I don't think anything in the sentencing would really interfere with Trump's ability to run his campaign, even if the sentence includes probation.
I hope he doesn't delay it, but I'm not gonna get my hopes up. Trump seems to be able to get delays on everything.

In reality, the campaign and the election should have no bearing on the scheduling for sentencing either way. I'm just overly skeptical at this point.Oh, I absolutely agree, but I could see how Trump's team could argue that a sentence that included jail time would mess with his campaign and could be interpreted as "election interference." Now obviously giving him jail time as punishment for crimes that he has been found guilty of isn't actually election interference, but I'm just saying that I can see how someone might be able to argue that in court.
I know nothing will actually remove Justice Thomas from the SCOTUS (short of the inevitable event that eventually comes for us all), but this is definitely seems like something that should be looked into, right?
Ginni Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, privately heaped praise on a major religious-rights group for fighting efforts to reform the nations highest court efforts sparked, in large part, by her husbands ethical lapses.
Thomas wrote that First Libertys opposition to court-reform proposals gave a boost to certain judges. According to Shackelford, Thomas wrote in all caps: YOU GUYS HAVE FILLED THE SAILS OF MANY JUDGES. CAN I JUST TELL YOU, THANK YOU SO, SO, SO MUCH.
On the same call, Shackelford attacked Justice Elena Kagan as treasonous and disloyal after she endorsed an enforcement mechanism for the courts newly adopted ethics code in a recent public appearance. He said that such an ethics code would destroy the independence of the judiciary.

A timeline is nice, but this trial won't see Christmas.Yeah, Trump is going to appeal every decision possible up to SCOTUS.

I hate this bravado on shit like this. No, Chutkan ISN'T treating him like any other defendant because any other defendant wouldn't have gotten away with nearly the amount of bullshit he has.Yep. Anyone of us would already be in prison for the shit fat fuck has done.
