You're right. At least when it comes to his TDKR portrayal. He's just a big mook there that happens to have more dialogue than his Batman & Robin counterpart, everything interesting about him was given to another character.

I think he was good for the one storyline and no one's really known what to do with him since. He broke Batman's back (not like that) and now they just reference that forever.

I hated his movie portrayal. I heard Nolan switched stuff up to make things more "realistic" and to tell me that mask thing and him just naturally punching through concrete is more realistic than a experimental super steroid? They coulda just made it to where the venom steroid worked quicker than normal steroids and took way that he loses the added muscle so quickly
I put my heart and soul into my work and I fear I have lost my mind in the process

I always really liked Bane.
Im talking comics of course.
He started great. Dipped down to lame and weak almost a joke character a couple decades and is considered a major threat now again (I believe)

I have a fan edit of TDKR that removes the reveal that Talia was the one that climbed out of the hole.

Still betrays Batman and it's revealed she is Talia, but Bane keeps his background story as the one who climbed out.

Also, it fixed Talia's awful death acting.

Afterwards hes usually reduced to just a muscle brain in most storys.

He was awesome because he wasnt just strong, he was strong, smart and a great tactician.
but I guess after the Batman and Robin movie where he was so dumb he couldnt talk they sorta just made him more strong and forgot the other stuff.
