Not sure why they felt that character needed a whole show.

No. Im a marvel fan and it was mediocre

The first 4 episodes are fine but the last one is luaghably bad.

Skip
i thought it was decent but sorry i have no answer, i still can't figure out why they felt the character needed a whole show

i just saw it for daredevil anyway

Not bad in the sense of being offense or pissing me off. But not amazing and an easy show skip.

You have to like the character or the actress (or be bored) to make watching it worthwhile

I'm genuinely as to why this show was even greenlit

Literally nobody asked for this
If you read this signature, then that meant that I had control of what you read for 5 SECONDS!!

It's not bad exactly, but it's not good. Nothing of note, impressive, fun, or interesting happened. It was just a really bland and unnecessary addition that I actually forgot existed until now.

Imo, it's the worst of the shows.

It's neck and neck with Secret Invasion for worst MCU show.

At least Kingpin was good in it... at least until the end.

It's not great. I am not sure entirely what the point of the show even was.

Apparently she is the replacement for Elektra in the comics. I think currently she's Daredevil's girlfriend and sidekick or partner or whatever. I think Marvel is trying to boost her popularity
I thought it was really slow and I didn't find anything about her character that I liked or felt invested in. She seemed angry and selfish alot of the time, and not in a fun Jessica Jones way.

I thought She hulk and Hawkeye shows were fun.

I hope daredevil is as good as on Netflix. I wanted Luke Cage and Jessica Jones to continue, but thought Iron Fist was awful.

In this case that has nothing to do with it. After Endgame Marvel notoriously started pumping out content at break neck speed for no reason. Literally no one asked for an Echo show.

Nah, literally nobody asked for this. At least for the Agatha show, the actress was very well liked.
SEXY SEXY!
Yeah, people were enthusiastic about an Agatha show.

If they gave us a Yelena or a Shang Chi show or a Blade show or most any other female/minority-led show, people would almost certainly be more interested than they were in Echo. She's just not a big selling point. She was mildly interesting in Hawkeye, but she's basically a normal woman who can fight decently.

I take back what I said about Echo being the worst. I don't think it's quite as bad as secret invasion. It didn't straight up ruin a bunch of characters for no reason.

Lots of people asked for shows exploring new eras.

I thought it was decent. Not the best of MCU but it kept my attention.

It's okay. I feel like it was too much Oklahoma and not enough NYC.

It serves as mostly an origin story rather than allowing the action to unfold.

I disagree, Reservation Dogs was a GOAT tier show.

But Echo was marketed as a Daredevil lite type of show, and we got that for half an episode, then Oklahoma shit for the rest of the series.

I still have to watch that.

I thought it was good right up until the Magical Native American shit in the final episode. Man that was so dumb.
Isn't that who her character is though? Literally an Echo of her ancestors

I just wish we got 6 episodes of the Daredevil scenes

I never got the whole, "Nobody asked for this," criticism when the MCU is supposed to be an adaptation of not only the comics but the format that Marvel takes itself. Marvel has limited series for C/D-listers all the time, so doing a short spinoff or a movie featuring them is entirely in line with what they've always done.

I would normally agree. Taking an unknown character and doing something new and interesting with them is a great way to get something different in the spotlight. It's a great way to prove you've got creativity. But they took a pretty boring character no one knew about and didn't do anything new or interesting with her and just generally didn't do a good job of what they did do. The trailer looked great and had a lot of the "no one asked for this" crowd paying attention, but that was about all of the good parts of the show. It's completely baffling what they were going for here. And you throw in her being a disabled native american woman and it feels like a some kind of virtue signaling tax write off.

I liked everything about it except for the very cliched ending. Which I can't even remember what it was.

The ending is so painfully bad it takes otherwise flawed but overall decent series and tossed it in the trash.
