Like baseball cards, where you just collect them for fun or whatever but you don't battle with them. But not baseball.

Like, other stuff.
There's a difference between canon and not-stupid.
Depends on what you consider "cool", but there are quite a few purely collectable sets of cards. Heck, Magic even has a cycle of "art cards" themselves that are unusable inserts that are just collectables for the people who like the art.

yes. tons. in america, mostly sports like baseball or wrestling.
when i went to japan, forever ago, they had cards of literally everything, everywhere. i always wondered who even bought them. i have a ton of really older bomberman cards and i don't know why.

Idols and vtubers, and, before the TCG(s), there were anime cards, most notably of DBZ. I think they were mostly just shrunken poster graphics.

I remember my aunt once got me a huge box of Pokemon Cards...but they weren't the card game, they were like, cards with still images from the anime with information on the back of them and such. They weren't "what I wanted" but I was still glad to have them, because they were cool.

GI Joe used to have cards like that, too. I have a bunch of them lying around somewhere.

I'm sure they still make them, but TCG/CCG stuff has gotten way more popular than non-functional trading cards over the last few decades.

I write Naruto Fanfiction. But I am definitely not a furry.
They're not as common as they were in the early 90s, but Topps, Upper Deck, and Rittenhouse still make sets based on TV shows, movies, comics, etc.
