Alternative proposal: Require use of the Politics flair and give users an option to hide topics with it.

Fandom has this bizarre policy of "no politics", so they should just open a new sub-board of CE and not call it the Politics board. Call it Current Events Xtreme Edition 2.0 or something

Most of the topics seem to be flagged as Politics, so maybe you can filter that out.

Currently the site doesn't (I don't think anyway?) offer a way to view all topics other than those with a particular flair.

I've filtered out the Politics flair. It's not foolproof but it helps a little.
There's a difference between canon and not-stupid.
