I paid $200 for it
I don't even know what a rice cooker is.
Only two things can end a Republican's career - a dead girl or a live boy.
Yes. I just used it, in fact. A Cosori something or other, cost I think 80USD.

I eat rice daily and a cooker was easier for me than messing with the stove top but i used to get those cheapo Black and Decker ones that sucked. This thing is a beast though.

Surely not for cooking rice, the name isn't trustworthy.

It's a machine for cooking rice. It comes with a cup for measuring rice and graduations on the side for filling water, so that you get the proportion exactly right, and it swaps to a keep warm setting automatically when the water is all absorbed.

They're fantastic devices that I will never live without now that I've tried them. The only downside is they leave this weird film on the outermost layer of rice. But it's edible and not that bad once you get used to it.

Yeah, my wife is Turkish. It was a necessity.

I never cook more than 1/2-1 cup of rice at a time. A pot works fine.

We used to but it broke. now we use our instant pot which works just as well so we havent bothered buying a new one

It would be easier to cook it on stovetop tbh.

No matter where you cook rice youre supposed to rinse it first (except for specific recipes that need the extra starch)

Not really. Since you dont need to watch the rice cooker. You hit start and thats it. You cant burn it.

That's all you do with a pot. I guess the rice cooker turns off automatically but that's the only convenience. I doubt many people are putting rice on the stove and then taking a nap.

I use my instant pot for rice frequently. Especially if I've cooked a whole chicken... Put rice in that juice and it's amazing.

Yes, I'm asian that eats a lot of rice. So it's a necessity for me, but I get why someone wouldn't want one in their house since the old fashion way of cooking them also works as well.
DI MOLTO!
