There is no, I made an arrest 15 minutes before shift and I'm gonna stay and take him and get paid. You take him or ask for next shift to take him for example. If you're late, you usually leave early or come in late the next day
Trade school is still post secondary
I was going to say exactly the same thing. Hell the college here teaches all those professions as part of their trade division. There really is no difference outside less on paper training and more hands on training.
That's good that you're not allowed to milk OT like that. Nice to hear there's a department out there that doesn't have an incentivizing policy like that.
If you're a tourist town, do you have quotas and a policy (written or whispered) about flagging out-of-staters because they're more likely to just pay instead of showing up for a summons, guaranteeing more revenue for the community? There's a little town (I think they're technically a "village") near me where there's a lake and a lot of AirBnB or VRBO cabins, and there's not a season where the cops aren't tagging people from out of town and we just watch the usual townies do fucking whatever and get away with it...
How do you agree or not agree with that list?
Add mining on the list for 6 figures out of high school really.
The high end are, but those are people who have worked for years and years
I teach at a university and am happy to say that not everyone should go to college. But this anti-college movement that seems to think NO ONE needs to go to college is just asinine.
What people fail to mention, are how white collar jobs are over hyped, while blue collar jobs are looked down upon by society. Change that perspective, and more people would attend trade schools.
Well, if you have a degree, surely it makes sense to go for jobs that require degrees, rather than ones that dont? It would seem that solves that issue.
What's that meme, he gets it but is a little confused or something? This one?
Went to medschool but moved to Canada so my degree was worth peanuts unless I did a bunch of exams/courses which after 6 years of studying I decided to say screw it. I didnt study medicine cause I liked it anyway.
Im a dog groomer now and make enough to live pretty comfortably, with the added bonus that I actually love what I do for a living.
Where did you move from?Mexico lol
There was a South Park episode that depicted plumbers and other tradesmen making lots of money via charging whatever they want for services because most people who went into tech- or business-related careers didn't know how to fix anything.
I know it's satire, but I can't help thinking this is probably more realistic than not, meaning trade work is going to become MORE essential as technology, A.I. in particular, makes more jobs obsolete or less human-dependent.
Are trade schools affordable?
Is financial aid available?
Is internship guaranteed upon graduation?
Do trade schools assist in job search?
Maybe trade schools really should broaden efforts to entice young, high school and college aged people to enroll as an alternative to college, and learn a skill that will always be in demand, offer a sense of personal accomplishment, and pay a livable wage and great potential for entrepreneurship.
I have a buddy, 39, who became a mechanic right out of high school. He was recently told by his doctor he can't be a mechanic anymore and both his knees need replaced.Overlooked aspect of it
Where I am the kids have the option to go to a technical high school vs the regular high school if they are thinking of the trades. There were a decent amount that choose the route from my daughters freshman class. My son starts tech school this upcoming school year for HVAC training.
Overlooked aspect of itThis is the major thing that people need to consider for sure. And its the main reason why I havent looked into it. I wasted a good almost 15 years doing manual labor (unfortunately it was the dumb retail kind, rather than something actually paid well) and definitely paid for it, so going into more labor-intensive work isnt an option for me.
i worked in a trade for 8 years and its hard on your body (let alone occasionally dangerous, even if you follow precautions)
yes there are decent careers dont get me wrong, but as a lifelong career path you have to consider how your later years will be
Lo siento.Yo tambin

Omg congratulations! Ours is 2 as well. Potty training has been a journey for sureLittle Devsman didn't finish potty training until he was almost 5. He was just the stubbornest ass possible about it.
Master plumbers who work on their own can earn a surgeon's salaryThe last plumber I called charged $100 an hour. Plus the parts he had to go source on my dime were marked up like 200%. So he got paid $100 an hour to get them, then made a profit on the parts themselves.
Have been and so has my fianc. Neither of us can get jobs with our degrees. He has a job that pays well enough but it wasn't because of his degree. One he spent 4 years working on. He's tried to get a job that requires his degree but either gets and interview but no call back or no interviews or calls at all. Same goes for me but I only recently got mine.
Little Devsman didn't finish potty training until he was almost 5. He was just the stubbornest ass possible about it.Haha, you think the little one will be easier?
Tiny Devsman is 2 and 4mos, and we just now got up the nerve to even try it with him, lol.
