That's rough. Not only does the milk itself get wasted and you don't get to enjoy what you paid for but then it makes an absolute mess too and will smell.

lactose is very fermentable. fermentation causes CO2. CO2 in a closed vessel causes boom boom.

I did that with a 16oz chocolate milk a couple months ago. I caught it before it blew. But I threw it into a dumpster at it did explode.

I bet chocolate would be even worse from the sugar.

Yep, learned that the hard way with leaving a little bit of smoothie in a thermos in the heat. When I went to open it to try and clean it, the lid blew off with so much force that it left a dent in the ceiling
