Zoomers bringing parents to interview

Current Events

Can't read the article, but we've had some interviewee's that did this before for both in person (the parent would sit in a corner or be outside for emotional support) and zoom call (in the same room somewhere but never in the same screen). With that said, the moment the parent opened their mouth to say something on their behalf or if the interviewee looks to their parents for help, it was a red flag for us to not hire them. The whole point of the interview is for us to know them a little better, if personality wise they're easy to work with and if they have the right credentials we're looking for to be able to perform the job at a CPA firm. In many times at work, you might be placed in an uncomfortable situation in front of clients/vendors and that means knowing how to keep your composure and at minimal ACT professional if that's not part of your personality.
