Does seem like he is either dismissing or seriously can't see how having all the aliens be based on stereotypes is a insult. It does seem like its a thing where he can't grasp that what was seen as liberal in his time is not seen as good enoughhe has always been this way about even slight criticism for star wars

and well carrie fisher hated the slave bikini and lucas did not give a rats ass what her opinion wasIt always bothered me how Leia was written to be this strong, confident leader and Carrie Fisher did her damndest to portray her in that way, but so much of the writing in the original trilogy instead used her as a damsel-in-distress or a romantic prize to be won by the two male leads.
hell for all his talk about leia being a leader she is not coming up with major strategies or anything
now dont get me wrong leia was VERY progressive for her time
but its ok to look back at iconic progressive works and go "hey these parts have not aged well lets learn from them"
