Yeah. It's different, but it's fine.

The scenes with Dave were really cool.

I didnt like it. The dialog and character interactions, especially between John Lithgow and the Russian, were weird. All the Kubrick magic was gone. Though sometimes Kubrick becomes a victim of his own tricks. I find these movies flawed mostly but the first is better.

The movie is fine. The end well......cool but way too farfetched to be believable.

Jupiter as a sun? It would have to be not very hot. It would cook the moons too.
I was born when she kissed me. I died when she left me. I lived a few weeks while she loved me-
I tried watching both of them and never made it to the end. So, so boring.
This is where cool people write stuff.
Last two options both apply for me. Never heard of it, never seen 2001.

"My god, it's full of stars" is associated with the movie 2001, but the phrase is only mentioned in 2010 (and the novel of 2001).
We all live in a Yellow SUV! a Yellow SUV!
OK, heres my hot Take: 2010 is a better movie than 2001. I know 2001 is considered a masterpiece by some, but its just so boring!
