The Metroids, Samus. They've gone super!

It was 2011 for me I believe. Maybe 2012.

Fantastic game
Live action Hungry Hungry Hippos though, now that was a sport. ~Aeon Azuran
Uh, I don't remember the exact year, but it was probably the year it was released on the SNES or the year after. Had to constantly rent it from Blockbuster, I think, and I didn't actually own a copy of my own until maybe 1998.
Without truth, there is nothing.
Within the last few years. Awesome game.
I fought the Trumble and the Trumble won.
It was sometime within the first two years it was out. I don't think it was actually the year it came out because I didn't own and just rented it at one point so I chose 95-97 just to be on the safe side.
"How can.. the Prime minister.. support a law.. that makes it illegal for people.. who....What I'm trying to say is.. Oasis rules!"
It would have been 00s. I played it in the 90s, but rage quit because I couldn't get the rhythm of wall jumping.
...I think I'm done here...
I have no clue of the year, but I do remember that I had a hard time progressing the game at first because I kept hitting the wrong button at the "do you want to save" prompt (which counts as a "no" even if you have the cursor pointed at "yes", even though the game doesnt outright indicate this) and wondering why the game never saved and I kept having to restart from the beginning every time I died/quit.
I believe it was 2017
There's a difference between canon and not-stupid.
I don't really remember. Either late 90s or early 00s. In the 90s my family rented it, but I don't remember if I was able to beat it. There were previous save files from other renters, left off at the very end of the game, but that doesn't count ;p. I just remember having a blast with the game.
Never. Never owned it, only played it at a friends house

Maybe one day ill shell out $100+ on it
"May the Father of Understanding guide you."
I rented it the day the video store got it and beat it a couple days later.
Every day I wake up and promise I will be nice to everyone, then I deal with people at work and remember why that will never happen.

Or just get a Switch and Switch Online. It's on the SNES NSO emulator thing they put games on.

I got close but never beaten Super Metroid. It's one of those games where if you start a playthrough and stop for a long time, then you become lost lost enough to start another playthrough.

Never played a Metroid game.
I rented it once during the mid 90s. That's all I remember. Probably late 96-ish.

1994. Got it for my birthday in May that year, beat it by the weekend. I was so fucking hyped for it, reading every scrap in Nintendo Power up to its release. I was actually a little disappointed how easy it was after Metroid and RoS, but got over that pretty quick once I learned wall jump and started sequence breaking.
Only two things can end a Republican's career - a dead girl or a live boy.
94
I rented it the summer it came out and beat it over a weekend
I don't believe in belts. There should be no ranking system for toughness.
In the 90s I just watched my friend beat it instead. He liked it so much he would play it to conclusion every weekend basically.. think he racked up 20+ play thrus.

I got sick of it.
Now or never.
When I had an N64 I eventually picked up a second model SNES and a few games via funcoland and target including Super Metroid. I might have beat it on emulator first but I'm not sure.
No lollygaggin'.
2022. I'd almost beaten it at least twice before, but dropped at Maridia.

Do people really keep mental logs of when they beat games over a span of 30 years? I have no clue. I barely remember owning a SNES.
This is where cool people write stuff.
2012, on an emulator.
~1995

I remember getting the SNES for Chanukah in 94/95

I have a SNES Classic and it's genuinely wild to me how not only was I able to beat so many games right away, but more memorably bad at games I am now

SNES is still my favorite system with the Cube being a distant second. It's not a mental log per se. But I just remember loving video games and having beaten so many of them that I now find pretty damned hard.

I never did 100% DKC3. Don't remember the specifics, but I remember it being some bullshit.

I pretty generally know when I bought/acquired most of my games and keep a pretty general idea of when I've beaten games.

Like I know I first beat Paper Mario in 2009 because I was in high school, I was sick during the time period of playing/beating it, among other life factors going on.

Or for like Zelda, I didn't play a Zelda game until 2008. So all of my Zelda completions would come during or after 2008.

I just keep stuff in mind regarding games.

I remember when I beat Super Mario Galaxy 2 because I was playing it at the time of my ACT/SAT tests and I opted to play instead of study. So that'd have been early 2011.

S'long as I have an association with a point in time, it's easy to remember things.

My grandpa had it. I only played it a little.

I never touched metroid till 2010s and late that decade I believe. As it stands now dread is the only side scrolling metroid I haven't beat.
