Well that bit in Mario RPG where Mario poses as a statue was localized differently from the SNES version. Closer to the Japanese script I believe, but here was speculation on why it is no longer Plumber's Lament:
"Observe...the thick mustache...covering the sad, innocent smile of a simple fool...And the sideburns conveying his blue collar roots."

It was most likely because of this line. Because people can't take a simple joke these days. Today people are offended by everything and will immediately refer to this funny joke as meaning all (manual labor workers) agriculture, manufacturing, construction, mining, or maintenance workers etc., as being sad fools. Which obviously isn't true.

That's why... And it's ridiculous. This is what cancel culture has done to our society. People getting insulted over nothing, at the drop of a hat and acting like fragile snowflakes.
