Could a dinosaur survive getting shot by guns?

Im just curious if Jurassic Park really happened and dinosaurs escaped, would they just be killed fairly easily by getting shot by AR15 rifles that people have at home? Or would it need some more heavy military machine guns or rocket propelled grenades or something?
Depends on the dinosaur and the gun, and the where you hit it. A human can survive being shot with an AR-15, I'm certain a brachiosaurus could shrug off a few rounds. A compsognathus could be killed with a swift kick. Hell, you need big ass rounds just to take down things like elephants and rhinos.

Im curious if like those scary looking dinosaurs, like a T Rex, comes charging at you, and you just keep shooting at it with a gun that any homeowner can have (like an AR15 with some standard ammo or whatever), will it eventually stop the T Rex or will it just not penetrate its skin or something?

Movies make it seem like these dinosaurs are like invincible.
Or like one of those giant handguns that the old westerners used, that has like a 50cal round or something crazy.

And yes, I obviously know dinosaurs dont exist now, and Im clearly not well informed on guns either.

If you mag dumped into a T-Rex's chest I'm sure it would go down.

Like the other guy said, depends on the dinosaur and where you hit it, on what it can take and how many bullets.

So the Trex, I'd imagine it's going to be dependant on where the bullets hit. They can definitely sponge (not the best word, but whatever) more bullets than we can.

In Alaska, it is suggested that when venturing into the wild that you carry no less than a .44 cal in case you run into a bear. You only get one or two shots before the bear closes the distance, so I would imagine the same mindset would apply to big dinosaurs.

This post is just an excuse to post 700 Nitro Express because I find the name to be silly.
Party leader, passive-aggressive doormat, pasta eater extraordinaire!
Animals such as bears and hippos could tank bullets, so I'm guessing dinosaurs of relative size would be able to. Smaller dinosaurs likely wouldn't stand a chance.
I am Lord Miquella. Google me, *****!
I assume with enough bullets of sufficient size, anything alive would go down eventually. It's hard to imagine an animal having fully bullet-proof skin. If they did, there's still the matter of absorbing all that momentum. You'd essentially be beating it to death at that point.

Since we're bringing up Jurassic Park, in the book, they deal with the island by sending in the military. Presumably, they shot the dinosaurs dead. I haven't read the sequel, so things might not have gone as well as one would hope, but it's presented as if this were going to be a solution.

I'd bet Michael Chrichton was a lot better informed than anyone here who isn't a legit career paleontologist. While that doesn't necessarily make him correct, it does at least constitute a compelling argument.
There's a difference between canon and not-stupid.
