Unironically implying Seinfeld had a worse ending than TAAHM lol

IMO anybody who complains about Lost's ending wasn't actually paying attention to the show and was just too fixated on their theory they came up with in the first season being "right"
Specifically talking about the people who insistthe island was Purgatory and everyone was dead the whole timedespite the mountains of evidence to the contrary and the fact that most of the show can't make any sense at all if this was the case
Oh, and Killing Eve. That one had a terrible final season capped off by a truly insulting finale.Maaaan, Killing Eve was a truly beautiful show but holy shit did they have their heads up their own ass for that final season. Better Things is another pretentious final season too.
No, because that would mean I watched Two and a Half Men.
wasn't there one show in like the 80's-90's where the ending was like "it was all a dream"?
which, considering that it apparently had a few crossover one-off episodes with other shows, would imply they were as well

I remember Flash Forward.
Only got one damn season, ended on a cliffhanger and was cancelled.
I want to know what happens next damnit!

wasn't there one show in like the 80's-90's where the ending was like "it was all a dream"?St Elsewhere, the hospital where the show takes place is in a snowglobe that an autistic person is entranced by, highly implying that all of the events of the show are fictional along with the other shows that it had crossovers with.
- Claire's craaazy and misses her baby and is kind of sort of a MiB follower and I think dies?
- Desmond is back! And he's silent and weird! And... it's a literal cork... wtf. Cue Jacob meme, "What's a metaphor?"

But funny you mention the

By the end of the show I dont think anyone still thought that was the case so I doubt that had anything to do with the disappointment. But funny you mention thePurgatorything because my only issue with the final season was how theFlash sideways as we called them actually turned out to be a kind of purgatory for the characters on the show to be reunited after deathwhen it made far more sense especially with the opening scene of the final season for it to bea parallel reality brought about by the question of whether or not the island was destroyed in the 70s by the events of the season five finale.
Maaaan, Killing Eve was a truly beautiful show but holy shit did they have their heads up their own ass for that final season. Better Things is another pretentious final season too.Better Things stayed pretty thematically consistent imo
I hate when shows try to be more philosophical for their final season, it's like fuck off, either start the show that way or don't do it at all. Don't give me 30 episodes like this, then try some arthouse nonsense for the final season.
Legion worked because it was always a mindfuck. But imagine Legion being a straight forward show, then the final season is just nonsense thrown at the screen for 6 episodes.
There were a bunch of shows that did their final seasons extremely poorly post covid and it was annoying.
Dexter had not just one, but two of the worst endings of all timeThis is the correct answer. Nothing else in this topic comes close to the double disaster Dexter had. They had another chance to fix it and doubled down on ending the series in an even worse manner.
I swear the stuff people tend to really shit all over on this site is always stuff I like. I mean I know gamefaqs tends to legitimately hate on basically everything. I have never seen a group of gamers dislike so many games but the amount of shows and movies people also dislike all the time is like damn.
I flat out enjoyed Two and Half Men until Charlie Sheen was off the show. After that it was meh but I still enjoyed some plotlines and episodes here and there. It went longer than it should have but all in all I really liked it. Especially the Charlie Sheen years and when Jake is still pretty much a little kid.
As for shit ending the ending for the original run of Dexter I thought was quite crappy for such a good show.
Also I'll just go in the opposite direction and say one of the better show endings to a great show was Six Feet Under. I felt really satisfied with the ending.
If you're going to pick a sitcom with a bad ending, go with SeinfeldI dont get the hate. I thought the ending was *fine*
Dexter had not just one, but two of the worst endings of all timeI was so mad at the 2nd ending. It was even worse
