We've also had playable Yasuke in Samurai Warriors. And he was in NiOh. Characters based on him in Neo Contra and Guilty Gear. Anime as well. And it's only now people decided Yasuke is a problem for some reason.

No people had a problem with Yasuke in the anime.

It just wasn't as big of an IP as AC so it wasn't as big of a meltdown.
