Poor kid. folks should have taken him out of that school. some martial arts or just basic self defense would have boosted this poor kids confidence at least. i know hittin back would have for damn sure got the schools attention then, since they were so blah about it before hand. :(
Basically, I'm for anything that gets you through the night~Frank Sinatra
here is my problem.

  1. where the fuck was the father in all of this? why wasnt he looking for the smoke with the bullys father? any father would have done this.
  2. schools are severely strained and this type of behavior isnt exactly #1 on the list of to-dos apparently. sometimes you gotta take it into your own hands.
  3. i will pray and mourn for you, son. karma is a bitch little man, and she keeps receipts. im sorry you had to go through that.

I may look calm, but in my head, I've just killed you three times.

This kind of thing hits very close to my own, as I was also in a similiar situation. School basically didn't give a shit, and even got to a point that they started blaming me for every single incident to the point they legit removed me permanently from school grounds because I'm a "violent threat" that needs to be removed/drugged up. It took me 21 years to learn the truth, and yes karma is a bitch.

Without my doing or desire, 3 of my bullies died not too long after, and the one lying teacher and principal (they were married, so a total conflict of interest) lost everything they and their families owned in a single hurricane.

My condolences to Sammy, but sadly it's not an isolated/one off thing.

Good riddance to those folks. It is certainly possible for bullies to reform, but it is not particularly common, and adult bullies are people that the world is generally better off without.

Forgot about it, but there was also this totally random time a number of years later, that this guy approached me and apologized how he treated me. Even now I don't even remember if he even did anything, but mighta been the kid that almost stabbed me with a pencil.

It does warm my heart to hear about people who do genuinely change their ways. Sadly, research has shown it's not particularly common.

Schools have a hard time dealing with bullying because it's really hard to acknowledge the simple truth that some people are pieces of shit and will always be pieces of shit.

Agreed. What makes bullying hard is we want to give the bully chances to reform, but at the same time, that usually just makes life harder for the other students. There's a reason why teachers and administrators in schools spend the majority of their time dealing with a very very small minority of students that make life difficult for everyone because they're unpleasant and oftentimes have parents who are unpleasant, and we still haven't figured out a solution on how to deal with them effectively. I oftentimes question the usefulness of trying to teach trigonometry to kids who have absolutely no interest in learning the material, but hey, what do I know? I just teach it.

How does a 10 year old even think about things like this??

Because life is unbearable when everybody hates you at that age. If I didn't have my small group of friends I could have ended up like this kid, elementary and high school were hell for me from grade 2 onwards.
The commercial says that Church isn't for perfect people, I guess that's why I'm an atheist.
